Hey all! Anyone subscribe to Sling TV? I really want to cut the TV cord!

What channels does it come with? Are you happy with it?

TIA!

I tried it and my experience was mixed. I have a very fast internet speed and used a wired Roku which should have meant I would have had no issues, but I found that some channels crashed often and if there was a series premiere (especially for The Walking Dead) you could forget even trying to use it and the whole thing crashed. I gave up and went to DirecTV.

We subscribe during college football season for ESPN, ESPNU, and the SEC channel. It is okay...but not as good as netflix, amazon, etc. in that it often crashes and you have to reload it. But for now, its our only option. But overall, abslutely NO REGRETS in cutting cable!

I do love that there is no commitment you can cancel at any time and re-subscribe.

what's the difference between sling and hulu for shows?

with sling you can get live tv. We had it for awhile, until they added this one channel, can't remember its name, that was totally inappropriate for my child, and that's only looking at the guide for the names of the programs!!! We only had the basic package. DH watched it more than I did, but it did crash regularly.

Bummer to hear about the crashing. AMC, ESPN are the channels we are mostly interested in watching. I know Sling offers a 7 day trial, but I think I get a 14 day trial thru Roku. Maybe I need to just do that and give it a try.

We tried it for college football playoffs on ESPN. I'm assuming too many people were trying to watch it because it didn't work at all in English but was okay in Spanish. We ended up canceling.

I have had sling for a while now. When I first got it (a bit before the new season of Walking Dead) it would always cut out at the beginning of the show. That lasted about 6 weeks and we did think of quitting, but we have had very few and far between problems since then. I think they were overwhelmed by the amount of people and upgraded. Never watch sports so I can't speak to that. Occasionally the pic will be blurry and we just exit and reenter and tends to fix. Definitely worth the savings for us. Plus in the kids pack they just added Nickelodeon channels and haven't increased the price.

Have you looked into Playstation Vue. We just signed up for it. $40/mo. for multiple devices (Sling is just 1 I believe). Live and On Demand tv, plus cloud DVR capabilities. Has local channels, which I'm told that Sling doesn't in our area. Only downside is that there is no Vue app for Apple TV. You can use it with PS4, fire stick, fire tv, ipad/phone, chromecast. Not sure about Roku.

If they get an app on Apple tv it will be perfect.

Sling lloks like a cool option if we ever start missing our cable channels...( we haven't yet) I don't see locals listed on the site....

Tried on 2 separate occasions to use it with my Amazon Fire TV stick. Very buggy (crashed a lot) and resolution was not good. It would have to improve a lot before I'd go back to it.

Can I subscribe to Vue without owning a Playstation?
