I popped into
Walmart and Publix this morning, because I needed to get food. We had not planned on being home, but now that we cancelled our trip, I needed to get some stuff.
Walmart was completely out of: TP, paper towels, tp wipes, clorox products, lysol products, alcohol (wipes and bottles), hydrogen peroxide, masks (I wanted to check...DH can get a box from his doctor if required), all disposable gloves, hand soap, dish soap, bleach, tissues and most of the cold medicine. The candy and chip aisles were decimated, as was pasta, pasta sauces, pancake mixes, and soups. Eggs, OJ, bread and baking stuff (flour, sugar) were all almost out. I did manage to get the last bag of KA AP flour and KA wheat flour; I was out of the AP and almost out of the wheat. Also, pet supplies were very low.
Publix was out of: TP, clorox products, alcohol bottles, hydrogen peroxide, and disposable gloves. I did pick up some more tp wipes, paper towels and tissues (because I am low on those). Plenty of food, but I did grab the last 2 6pks of cup of noodles for DS. They were fully stocked with everything else, including meats, fresh produce, frozen, etc. I didn't check medicines, I forgot to go down that aisle.
I ordered from Target (and we'll see if I get it all): tissues, cold medicine, throat lozenges, and paper towels. Just in case stuff.
I felt so awkward having a basket full of stuff at both Walmart and Publix. At least at Walmart, some of the cart was not panic buying...2 new curtain rods and curtains (for the spare/DS bedrooms, since the blinds aren't keeping the sun/heat out well enough), shower curtains (needed to replace) and some new underwear and socks for DS (needed to replace). I did look like a panic buyer at Publix, because I had 28 bags of frozen veggies in my cart..but that is 2 weeks worth in my house. That's my normal buying, lol.
