Finally got my holiday covered at work, our dates are 6th to 28th August. Dont mind indirect. Paid £420 last year in school holidays with Delta!
Cheapest over £800 indirect with Air Canada at the moment. Just hoping something cheaper turns up. Anyone seen anything better?
Thanks

yes we have been doing the daily search since September - would happily pay £800 direct but seen nothing under £980 for our dates. Dithering over whether to keep hoping or just suck it up and get the credit card out :(

We are! Cheapest we've looked at is British Airways for £850 each, indirect on the way, direct on the way back. We're going on August 3rd with my parents, but they've already booked theirs with Virgin for £925 direct; they won't fly indirect whereas we're not fussed.

We always go later in August and then come back early September, usually go indirect via Delta (or Continental as it was) or in 2012 we went via US Airways from Manchester. I know I've looked at direct Virgin flights for us before it and was running way into the thousands, so I hope you find something suitable at a better cost!

any uk to any Orlando - DH hates flying so has to be direct. Keeping wishing ;)

If he's scared of flying it might be worth paying for a fear of flying course lol!

I was terrified of flying and didn't get on a plane for six years - went on the Virgin course and it's the best money I ever spent, I've done six flights since last May and have another eight booked over the next 12 months :)

That's amazing - well done you! :worship:

Im still looking.
Hoping to book by the end of the month, I know the prices usually drop for a bit mid Jan.
If I changed the days we fly, I could get 3 flights direct with Virgin for £2300. however our days aren't flexible.
Im just deciding if we want to upgrade, if we can afford it.

good luck to anyone still waiting. :)

Anyone that doesn't mind indirect can find a bargain flying from Ireland. Dates are available in August but I will give an example for my dates in July.

Out Dublin~Gatwick~MCO
In MCO~MAN~Dublin

Virgin Upper class on the transatlantic legs = 1,200Euros = £1,000pp

People are booking August PE for around 750 Euros = £625

As well as VA there are also BA Upper class (or their equivelent) for around £1,000pp

Book on sites like Ebookers.ie or e-travel.ie, starting in Dublin, cork & Shannon

What some are doing is getting a one way flight to Ireland to start the journey but then not using the last leg om return from UK to Ireland at the end of the holiday, only checking in their luggage too either London or Manchester. I didn't know you could but Virgin have confirmed you can, I have also Googled and found on Flyertalk it is acceptable.

Lots of talk on here about it http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=760442&page=26
