We use to always have ours down by New Years. However, the last few years we have gotten more relaxed about it and leave the inside up until mid January.
This year the outside stayed up until mid January (not on) because of the blizzard that hit on Christmas eve. As it was, we had to beat the snow off of one strand that was on a bush.
We dismantle the inside decorations gradually, over the course of a week. Odds and ends first, then the village, fireplace mantel and then finally the tree. Our tree came down last tuesday which was Jan. 19th.
I miss the lights.
