Anyone still have christmas decorations up?

We use to always have ours down by New Years. However, the last few years we have gotten more relaxed about it and leave the inside up until mid January.

This year the outside stayed up until mid January (not on) because of the blizzard that hit on Christmas eve. As it was, we had to beat the snow off of one strand that was on a bush.

We dismantle the inside decorations gradually, over the course of a week. Odds and ends first, then the village, fireplace mantel and then finally the tree. Our tree came down last tuesday which was Jan. 19th.

I miss the lights. :santa:

Mine are, but my excuse is that I'm currently on an unplanned trip to WDW, so I'm not home to deal with them. :goodvibes

My husband took almost everything down the week after New Year's. Exceptions are the wreath on the door since I follow the old NH tradition that you leave your wreath up until Town Meeting day.

We also leave our outside lights up year round. We love turning them on to enjoy in the middle of the summer.

Np, tree fell down a couple of days after Christmas:sad1: I usually take the decorations down the weekend after New Years, but since the tree fell, I just took it all down. One of the people down our street still have their tree up, but haven't seen it lit in a few days.

Took the big tree down the day after Christmas b/c all the needles were falling off... but DGf is refusing to let me put away the little artifical tree and the snow village, and every time I mention it she gives me a sad face... so by the looks of it, they will be up until I go spring when in March

"And I leave my Christmas lights on on my front porch all year long..."

All still up. And lit up at night.

DD13, DD9, and DD3 love them, I love them, what are they hurting? DH is in no hurry to go outside to take them down.

We are, truly, redneck women.

Why yes! and because I failed to take them down after all the gifts were removed from under the tree the cat ate all my peacocks off the tree I loved them with their fancy tails from real peacock feathers! all 48 peacocks are now in Christmas tree peacock heaven & hopefully soon DDs cat will join them. at my house it certainly didnt pay to procrastinate.:headache:

Sort of.

We do not really do decorations much. However, we do have a Santa made out of concrete on our front porch. It is maybe 1.5 ft tall. Our neighbors turned us into the zoning officer because they are always trying to get us into trouble over something. They told him they did not like the "shape" of our Santa. We all (us and the zoning officer) had a good chuckle over it. I now have it in an upstairs window fully lit by leds facing their house. I am leaving it up until next Christmas.

omg that's hilarious!!!

we had neighbors like that growing up. the window facing their house had a ghost with it's tongue out in it all the time.

Well I have been avoiding this thread as long as I can....hoping everyday that I will make a dent in our Xmas decos.
It is officially Jan. 30th and we still have Xmas decos up, the tree is down but everything else is up. I COULD be taking them down right now but I am DISing instead!

I'm heading home tomorrow :sad1:, so I guess I'll find out then if I'm the last one in the neighborhood with outdoor LED lights up. Ugh, I don't want to leave.
