Anyone still buying the DDE card?

If my AP expires in Nov while I'm at the world, can I still buy the DDe and use it on that trip and will it still be good for a year? I should've bought it on my last trip but I was using the DDP. Oh well!

Im still trying to figure this out also. I bought my AP in February but not the DDE (we had DXDP so it was not necessary). If I buy will it expire in February or one year from date of purchase of the DDE?

SOrry - I am feeling really dense lately LOL

It will expire 12-13 months from the time(day of the month) you purchase the DDE depending on the time you buy the DDE. Hope that helps:thumbsup2

Thanks - that does help!! I am trying to figure out if it is "worth" it to purchase being as we have free dining for 7 days of our trip but we ARE having 1 or 2 meals and some drinks at Disney before free dining starts....plus I hope to go back next winter.

I am a single mom, well can I still say that he is 20? Anyway he always goes to the parks with me. Even though we usually only eat 1 meal a day trip it saves a bunch...if I were staying a week eating all my meals (some cs take the card) I would definitly purchase it... 9x out of 10 your going to tip 18-20% anyhow so the addition of the gratuity isn't a big deal and your still saving the 20%. With the other benefits, free valet parking at resorts (if your driving), 1/2 off PI, and sometimes they will send you discounts to special events and invitations to such. All in all it is a good thing (as Martha would say), my sister would like tha one;) . But like I said that is my opinion, I have had the DDE for 3 years now. Lot of luck and enjoy your trip!!:woohoo:

We're staying at an Epcot resort, & need to purchase APs & DDE. Where is the most convenient place to purchase both at the same time? I know we can purchase them at DTD, but am hoping for a more convenient location. (FYI, we'll be going to Epcot on our arrival day.) Also, we're purchasing FL resident APs, if it makes a difference. TIA :)

You can purchase them at the gate...that would probably be the best place for you since your going to be there anyhow.. you can only purchase them at a park or DDD. Have fun!! The Garden Festival is very pretty was there yesterday with my sisters!! :dance3:

I think it is only good at the value resort CS locations! otherwise TS only!

It is good at the following CS locations:

Value resort food courts
POFQ food court
SSR counter service
Animal Kingdom (the park, not the Lodge) - CS except Yak & Yeti (Anandupur Food Cafes)

We activated our APs and bought DDE at the International Gateway entrance to EPCOT. I think you will find that as convenient a place as any to do so.

Thanks for the info. I have entered Epcot through the International Gateway many times, but don't remember seeing GS there. Guess I was in too big of a hurry to get through the turnstiles to notice. :rolleyes1 You can't get much more convenient than that. :thumbsup2

I have a question. I can probably already figure out the answer, but I thought I'd ask anyways.

I'm planning on getting an Annual Pass for my next trip, but my options are either waiting until I get to the park and buying an activated pass, or buying a voucher in advance and activating it at Guest Services when I get there. I was wondering if it would be possible to order DDE in advance before I activate my pass, this way I can use it on the first and second days. (I'm arriving on a Sunday, and the office is only open M-F 8-5 - correct?) As the letter about the card usually isn't dropped off at EPCOT Guest Services until the DDE office closes each day, I would not be able to pick it up until Monday evening, or Tuesday morning.

Like I said I probably know the answer, that it's not possible, because they want you to have an activated annual pass before you get discounts.

Yes, you can order your AP now and receive your voucher and order DDP with the voucher. They will send your DDP card in the mail. Then just activate the voucher at any park guest services window or guest services in Downtown Disney when you get there. I think if you order your DDP card after the 15th of the month it gives you an extra month. They'll explain when you order.
This is exactly the way I did it so I know it works.

So, we'll need to be at Guest Services at Epcot's IGW, before 5pm in order to get a DDE card on arrival day? (We're arriving on a Thurs.) I'm glad I read the PP. I didn't realize that. :o
