The extra 15% is only available through Orbitz. You can't get it booking through Disney.Okay, so I'm coming up with $2324 for WL courtyard 4 nights/5 days on Orbitz (which is including using the Review15 code). Do I need to order from Orbitz to get that price, or can I wait and order directly through Disney for the same amount later in the morning, assuming that room type is still available?
Also, resorts that aren't eligible for the Disney discounts might be available on Orbitz with the 15% off. For example, the Little Mermaid rooms at AoA are eligible for the 15% discount on Orbitz, but they aren't via Disney. Others might be, too. Also, it looks like some resorts might have more or less of a discount than Disney, so it's worth checking. AoA, for example, is showing up as "up to 40% off" for our March dates (but I didn't price it out since we're not staying there, so I can't confirm that).
From what I've learned on the boards, it looks like the big differences between booking through Disney and Orbitz are:
1. Have to pay in full at booking, but can cancel 5 days prior, just like Disney.
2. If you book online, they'll charge you if you have more than two people to a room. However, if you call them and add your children to your reservation over the phone, they won't charge you.
3. The Orbitz reservations are room-only, so you won't be able to add dining plan.
We used Orbitz at Disneyland this summer with great success.
