Anyone Staying at POP CENTURY Aug 21-27?

Yooo Hoooo! Just made reservations for one additional night stay on my package. For only $90 more we were able to get 1 more day added to our PH Pass, 1 more nights stay at POP, 4 TC, 4 CS and 4 Snacks. Not too shappy of a deal even if we only use it for the extra dining credits and for late check out on our original departure date.

andychris14 - I think the portions are pretty big plus they can share your appetizers. My main concern is variety. I was concerned about my dd having to eat chicken nuggets and hot dogs all week if she were to order off childs menu but have noticed that some of the places we have chosen children can actually get steak or grilled chicken. We just returned from Pop 2 weeks ago. We were in 50s Bldg C on the fourth floor (room 3433). We had a view of Spaceship Earth, could see some of Illuminations and one night we could even see the high parts of Wishes.

This pretty much explains the reason for so many 50's building request.

We will be there the 21-27.
CM said we should request 50s 1st., 70s 2nd., BUT as we have a couple of more important requests (connecting rooms, medical frig., non-smoking for medical) I will take what I can get!
We have 6 kids under 11, so we should be obvious to all! (we usually do matching shirts too )
We will definately be at a pool the evening of the 21st, weather permitting.
We homeschool, so we could go anytime IF daddy wasn't in school almost full time (when he's not working or sleeping )
He has 2 weeks off, and they offered free dining, so WDW get ready, here we come!

Where is everyone getting their lime green mickey heads? Are you making them? Do they have to be Mickey or could you have any disney character in lime green? Actually, my favorite Disney Character is Vin Diesel but my dh said he didn't count. I figured after the Disney movie Pacifier he should qualify as a Disney Character. Anyone agree with me? Guess he wouldn't look as good lime green.

Is anyone going on the Pontooon Illuminations Cruise between Aug. 22 - 25? Do you have room for 4 more people? We would love to share an Illuminations Cruise and the expenses with another family or two.

Lime Green Mickey Heads can be found at your local Home Depot Store. They are actually paint samples put out by Disney...they come in all different sample colors ,but the Disboard color is LIME GREEN. I picked up a few samples and cut them out,glued them back-to-back and then laminated them.!!! I punched a hole in the top between the ears and we'll be wearing ours when we get to WDW. I also will be putting them on our luggage ,too !!! See you all down there

Its our 7th trip to Disney, first visit to Pop Century. We will be there 8/22/-8/27 and requested the 60's building. I received my paperwork and Magical Express package today. It does note that I have requested the 60's building but thats it. I'll be there with my DH, and 2 sons, 16yo and 8 yo.

Thanks for the explanation. I feel so silly now. I thought people were actually going to Home Depot and purchasing a certain color paint and then painting a mickey head. Just one of those moments where my brain cells froze up. I'll have to talk my dh into going tomorrow. When we courted a perfect date was a movie and dinner, now it's HD and Dinner! At least I can still get a good steak out of the deal and pick up my Mickey's too!

Just a minor point.

Home Depot does not have Lime Green as a color sample. The five-dollar term for the lime green mickey head color is "Alien Green".

There is another lime green-ish color. But that is not the official DIS color.

By the way "MILEMRKR63" just what is at mile marker 63? Curious minds want to know.

I'm not MILEMRKR63, but I have an answer.

Definition from en.wikipedia.org:

"A mile marker sign is one of a series of numbered markers placed along a road at regular intervals, typically at the side of the road or in a median."

I would assume MILEMRKR63 lives very close to a highway, 63 miles from the start point.

Hey, it's a good a moniker as any.

DD (age 12) and I will be there 8/18-8/23. I know I requested a building, but it was so long ago that I can't remember which one!

My brother is trying to arrange a last minute trip so he can join us for a few days, so he might be there too, the week of 8/21.

Can't wait! I have a conference call in 5 minutes, and the last thing I want to do is talk about something other than Disney!

We are also going to be at POP -we will be there from 8/22 to 8/29. We are arriving on a late flight so we won't really be counting the 22nd.
