Anyone Staying at POP CENTURY Aug 21-27?

Just curious to how many others on the board are staying at POP Aug 21-27. We are a family of 4 from NC and this will be our 1st trip staying on property. My husband and daughter (12) have never been to WDW, it's been 10 years since my son (19) and have visited.

We will be there 23rd to the 29th. Me, DH, DD (11), & DS (8). We've stayed on-site at CSR, CBR, POFQ, BWV's, & CR plus a couple of mistakes off-site, but this is our first time at POP...can't wait!!!

Have you requested a building yet? I'm sure our girls will probably meet up in the pool with them being about the same age although we may never know.

I requested the 50's...don't know if we'll get it or not, but we're hoping. Disney is usually pretty good about meeting your requests if they can. My DD and I are both partial to the 50's era, the music, the way they dressed, etc. but it's waaaay before my time! Just kidding, it's only a wee bit before my time! My DD just loves it when she meets up with someone to hang with, so lets hope they do! Listen for the Boston accent & you can't miss us!

We will be there August23-31. First time at the POP. We are a family of 4, myself,dh,ds(10) and dd(8) from NY.
I went to home depot and got my lime green disney paint swatch.

My 5 friends and I are going to be there 8/22-25, then we are going on a cruise to Cozumel Mexico!!!!!!!!! Are we there yet?

3rd stay at POP for me (most recent 5/31-6/8/05) and love this resort. First stay for my 5 friends though they have heard tons about POP. Great cast members, great bus service and generally a great atmosphere at POP. (Petals Pool Bar makes excellent cocktails)

We booked 60's preferred rooms, not that any room at POP isnt great.

We also requested the 50's building. Let's keep our fingers crossed that we all get our request. I have read on several boards where people had found out in advance what building they were going to be in. How is this so? I received my documents in the mail ..... nothing there. Checked on line ... nothing there. It probably wouldn't hurt for all of us to call POP a couple days before arrival. I'm really getting excited about this trip .... expecially with the free dining!

I check in 8/22 - check out 8/25. I haven't made a room request so I'm betting I won't be anywhere near the 50's! Ya'll haven't saved me a room. I'm traveling alone....a get away from everybody trip. I need a few days when I only need to please myself. My 18yo son is a little miffed I'm not taking him but he'll get over it.

I'm sure there will be a lot of Boston accents around, there usually is around the end of August because the kids don't go back to school till after that. My DH almost always wears a Sox hat, so we end up talking to a lot of people from the area, or sometimes the Yankees fans like to chime in with a comment or two, but it's always in fun. It's a great conversation starter! Do you have a DD age 11 or a DS age 8? Now THAT would be quite a coincidence!

Anyway, looks like a lot of us Dis'ers plan on staying in the 50's building during the last week in August! That is too funny! Last one there is a rotten egg!

Count us in, too!! We requested the 50's building arriving Aug 21st. How crowded do you think it will be based on the free dining? I was hoping for lower crowds than school vacation weeks.

I'll be there from Aug 21-26. I haven't requested a room location. Can anyone explain why the 50's building is so popular (besides the cool memorabilia, of course)?

Is it close to the bus stops or the pool or the lobby? (Less walking, more fun!)

We will Be there 8/21-8/28, and requested 50's too. It will be me, DH, DS10 and DD7. No Boston accents from us though! We are from Chicago. Our schools don't go back until the 30th.
