HI,
We're considering booking a King Suite at RPH with our almost 11 and 13 year olds. One will be on pullout couch and one on Rollaway bed. Has anyone tried this configuration? How do the beds fit?
We're not sure how else to find a room that doesn't have silly kid beds (that they won't fit on) but also provide enough room that we won't kill each other haha. We are so excited for our Universal trip but struggling with finding the right place to stay without spending over $5000.

Thanks in advance for your insght!

I have done the king suite with an adult son

Always have to request extra blankets to be used to pad the pull out sofa

You should be able to put the roll away bed in the room that has the king bed easily

I stayed in one last year and the pull out sofa was the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept on. By night 2 I had put the cushions back on and slept on the couch.

We stayed at hard rock in the future rock star suite. The kids room has 2 twin beds. There is a king bed and a pull out couch in the other room of the suite. The rollaway bed will be the same size as a twin or possible a little smaller. My kids were 13 and 15.

SO maybe we suck it up, stay one less night, and spent more money to get two adjoining rooms in the Portofino Bay? We're spending a lot of money on this trip and don't want to ruin it with unhappy sleeping arrangements!

If the main issue is the bed quality, you could do a rollaway in a regular 2 queen room at Royal Pacific (or Portofino) so everyone would have their own good sleep surface. By all accounts the rollaway is much more comfortable than the sofabed in the suites. I'm considering getting a rollaway for one of my teens for our next trip. Last time he was on an air mattress, which fit on the floor fine, with two other kids in the second queen bed (luckily they do okay like that!). Maybe a tighter squeeze than you're looking for, though. PBH 2Q rooms are larger than RPR's.

We’re the twin beds comparable mattress comfort wise to the king bed? I’m considering this on a future trip and my kids are older.

Because of the cost of two adjoining rooms, we've decided to just go with the king Suite at RPH. We will use a rollaway bed and either the pull out couch or an air mattress for my two tweens. They have both assured me it will be fine haha.

I'm doing this with my DD's 13 and 10 in February. Both of these kids would be perfectly happy sleeping on a bag of rocks so I'm not concerned about comfort, but they wouldn't be willing to sleep on the same bag of rocks, so I'm planning on the rollaway.

We’ve done it two times now. It works well for us but our children are twins and don’t mind sharing a bed as we were under the impression a rollaway wasn’t an option. I will say there isn’t a whole lot of extra room in the living area with the pullout bed once it’s unfolded. There is plenty of room in the bedroom for an air mattress or rollaway though. I didn’t sleep in the foldout bed, but I spent some time there and it is not comfortable. My kids didn’t complain, but they can sleep anywhere.

Our DDs 14 and 15 slept on the pullout sofa at PBH for 3 nights and they said it was comfortable. Then again, they would probably say Heckah's bed of rocks is comfortable, as long as they get to be at UO with EPs :)
