Anyone have any experience with the 1 bedroom suite at Disneyland Hotel? How are the Sofa Sleepers?

We did! We were lucky and got upgraded from a view room to a one bedroom suite in Sierra Tower overlooking the pool. I LOVED it. There was a bedroom that was just like most rooms with the 2 Queen beds and the sofa sleeper with the tv in the armoire and desk and then in the big living room area there was a sofa and two overstuffed chairs and also a big round table with chairs and the armoire with the tv and dvd player.

Honestly, the sofa bed was terrible!! My ds slept on it fine though but I have heard that some have been replaced since our stay almost a year ago. No adult could have slept on that one though with the big bar right across your back-ugh. Ideally it would be nice to put the kids in the bedroom and then the adults would have the living room to themselves when the kids were sleeping but there was just no way we adults could sleep on that sofabed especially when we think the regular beds are pretty darn comfy. As it happened with us, it was one of the times DH could not stay and just dropped us off and had a business meeting to go to in LA! He missed the whole thing so ds slept in the living room and dd and I each had our own queen bed in the bedroom. There was no desk in the living room so I was satisfied to have the computer set up by my bed.

The thing I loved about the suite so much was the bathrooms and all the closet space! There was a big 1/2 bath off the living room next to a nice closet and then as you went into the bedroom, there were 2 more closets! The bathroom off the bedroom was pretty great. It had a glass shower, a hugh vanity with double sinks and a bathtub with the toilet in it's own room. I loved it because I could bathe/shower both my kids at the same time-lol! We were never that fast getting ready before or since.

There are many many different configurations of one bedroom suites though. Some have king beds, some don't have the 2 bathrooms or have 2 full bathrooms, some have wet bars (ours didn't) but we did have a fridge. It is hard to tell exactly what you will get. One thing is for certain, the living room area was gigantic and we could have easily set up travel cots or several queen sized aerobeds! There was also a connecting door from the living room that would open up to make the suite a 2 bedroom and I am pretty sure that room had a king bed.

Still, if I was going to pay for it, I would rather have 2 connecting rooms as it is cheaper and more practical to have nice beds! You are at the parks most of the time anyway and after all that running around the thing you really need is a good nights sleep on a nice bed. I also prefer the DTD view.

I was afraid the sofa sleeper might be bad. We are staying one night on DVC points and that's all that was available. Oh well, I guess we could bring in a roll-away. Maybe we'll get lucky and get the 2 queen beds.

Yes, the rollways are nicer and they are free! I could even sleep on one in a pinch if I had to. You might get lucky though and get one of the new sofa sleepers. I also take along the queen aerobed sometimes and have used it a lot-cheap from costco and housekeeping will bring you as many blankets and pillows that you want. Don't forget to ask for the coffeemaker too if you want one as they are not automatically in the rooms. As soon as we get to the room, I call housekeeping and put my order in-lol-coffee maker, rollaway, extra blankets and pillows and sometimes a room service table if our room only has a desk. They are nice as can be and never give me any grief. I also check the lightbulbs before I call as we have come back at midnight and found they were burnt out!

I think the size of your group dictates whether you get the 2 Qs and the sofa sleeper. When we stay at the DLH, our 2 adult +2 children family has an extra invisable child! You are paying for the room, not per person so having 3 children practically quarantees getting the 2 Q/SS room. My kids fight over the sofa sleeper so we always get the rollaway and they both are happy!

I hope you have a great stay! Why just one night? Moving to a different hotel or just doing 2 days at DL?

Anyone have any experience with the 1 bedroom suite at Disneyland Hotel? How are the Sofa Sleepers?

While it's not the Disneyland Hotel, the sofa sleeper in the one bedroom suite we stayed in at the DLR's Paradise Pier Hotel was REALLY nice. I wished I had checked what company made those sofa sleepers at the time because I would've purchased one for our home. The best sofa sleeper I'd ever slept on. Our overall hotel experience could've been better, though. I know you're looking for information about the Disneyland Hotel's one-bdrm suite, but if you're interested in the specifics about PP, PM me.

It's my 2 year old niece's first trip so I wanted to see how she likes it. She goes through all my DVC books every time she comes over. This is my busy time at work so I'm flying down first thing in the morning and coming back on the last flight the next day.

Oh how exciting to be taking her on her first trip!! Be prepared to get a little teary eyed when you see DL through her eyes. I hope she loves it and all of you have a wonderful time.

Thanks for the info. We all should have a great time...It's more like DH, my father and I are crashing part of my sister's vacation for 2 days.
