I am thinking about staying at The Fairfield Inn across the street from the park in March, can anyone tell anything about it?
Is it clean, safe?
How far is the walk to DL?

We stayed there in October 1998, shortly after it became a Fairfield Inn. It has been renovated since then. If you don't mind motel-style lodging with exterior entrances, it is fine. This Fairfield Inn doesn't serve continental breakfast, but it's next door to a McDonald's, so we ate breakfast there. The rates are higher than the Candy Cane Inn for the dates I need in March ($134 for 2 queen beds vs. $92 AAA rate at CCI), so I would check rates elsewhere first. It was convenient to walk to the parks from the hotel.

I stayed there in 2003 (was supposed to in 2004, but didn't due to a glitch). I found the rooms clean and well cared for. It had just recently been remodeled, so I think that was some of it. We had a great housekeper who gave us about 20 towels for 3 of us. We never did figure out why, but were happy to accept them. It takes about 15 minutes at least to walk to the gate from there, but if you are on a high floor especially (we were on the 8th ot 9th), you will have an amazing view of the parks, especially at night. There is a McDonalds right next door for a quick meal at any time. I would definitely not hesitate staying there again, but now that I live so close, I can just drive up for the day.

I stayed there in 2003 and thought it was fine. It is no Disneyland Hotel, but it is nicer to your budget. It didn't have a lot of amenities, but it worked for us. It was clean (I think Marriott does a good job, if it isn't clean I'd complain). A lot of hotels advertise that they are just across the street from Disneyland, which is true, but they aren't right across the street from the entrance, so you will do some walking. I'd stay there again.

My DS and I stayed at the Fairfield last May and really enjoyed it. I got the room for 3 nights on Priceline for $50.00 per night. The room was very clean and the beds really comfy. Location was right across the street. I have stayed at a couple of the other motels that are on the same side of the street and they were no where near as clean or nice as the Fairfield. On priceline I chose only the immediate Disneyland area. Even at the AAA rate on EXPEDIA of $119 per night it would have been worth it to me considering what I have stayed in near by.

My sister just stayed there Thanksgiving week. She had no problems with it and said it was easy walking distance....
