Has anyone stayed at the Summer Bay Resort? I received a phone call this morning for a great deal for 4 nights 3 days from this resort. Is it nice? We would have to go thru the sales pitch, which I don't mind, but am wondering if it is really high pressure. Thanks for any info you can give me!:smooth: :smooth: :smooth: :smooth:

We did it last year. I think a lot of it depends upon your sales person. For us, it was worth it - we weren't high pressured - I think the presentation lasted 2 hours during a continental breakfast. Since we have two teens, dh and I loved having our own room and our own TV. Our sons used the pullout couch in the livingroom and there was a TV in there too. We had a one bedroom condo -which was brand new last year when we stayed there. They also have a villas section which is a few years older - we didn't see those. Everything in our condo was brand new and very clean - it is a timeshare not a hotel - so they don't have daily maid service, but our unit had a washer/dryer. When we were there it was very quiet. Our first day we just relaxed by the pool & jacuzzi with a couple drinks from the Tiki bar. If you are looking for magic or "theming" Summer Bay doesn't have it. If you are looking for a condo - its great. The employees were very helpful. Dh and I walked over to the registration desk to report that our TV remote didn't work. By the time we walked back to the condo the employees had dropped off a brand new remote with our sons - in less than 10 minutes!

We stayed at Summer Bay for 4 nights December 1999. We paid $99 for 4 nights in a one bedroom but even at $25/night, we were disappointed. We had just spent 6 days on site at Dixie Landings and the move off site was a shock! We were in one of the older villas since the new ones were not finished yet. There were roaches in the kitchen and the Jacuzzi in the room was so loud we had to wear hearing protection while using it. On the 3rd night, our neighbors that shared the outer foyer between the one and two bedroom units locked the outer foyer door so we could not get in. This door is only supposed to be locked when the 2 units are used by the same party. It took an hour before we found someone with a master key to unlock the door.

Our disappointment was clear to the sales person, but he managed to waste almost 4 hours of our time anyway - not the 90 minutes we were told before we booked the package.

Summer Bay is a long drive out 192 from Disney. Since this trip, I have found that Priceline proved to be a better way to experience Disney on a budget.
