Anyone stayed at Sands Dunes Resort in Myrtle Beach?

I was wondering how it is. They seem very reasonably priced AND rent to 21-year-olds which is a must since I'm 21. From what I've seen it looks pretty nice, just hoping to see if anyone has stayed there.

We've stayed there twice in '97 and '03. We love the view with the ocean right outside our balcony. The restaurant breakfast buffet is really nice and the new kiddie pool area is awesome! There's a lazy susan, water playground, etc. We spent the whole day of DD1's 5th birthday there playing. On the backside of the hotel is a nice pool and of course the ocean! Their pizza place isn't bad and the convience store was at times very convienant for us.
The only negative was that some of the rooms were badly in need of renovations last time we were there (ripped carpet, etc.). However, it's been almost 3 years since then so maybe they've been updated. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again!

our stay there was horrible. the room was very much in need of repair. and the waterpark(which is much smaller than it looks on the internet and brochure) was overrun with kids and very few chairs for adults. The hotel next door to it is MUCH nicer. wish I could remember the name of it. they both
are withing walking distance to River city diner which is very good.

I stayed there (several times) back in the 80's and also the Sands Beach Club next door which is much nicer. Those places should have been overhauled way before now! When they were relatively new, they were very nice. Sounds like they're just hanging on...by a thread.
