Anyone stayed at Pop and Asmo?

I have stayed at ASMo & Pop and both were great. I have also stayed at POR and I can sort of help you compare the 2 since POR & POFQ are sister resorts and very similar when it comes to the rooms.
If I were going to have to pick between all of the Value resorts it would be POP and that is mainly because of the bus transporation. Not that POP isn't a great resort...but only having the one resort helps a little at the end of a long hot day. Other than that the rooms are very similar and the larger than life themeing is at all the values and really are a fun thing to experience.
The only thing I think you are going to really miss from the POFQ is the size of the rooms. If you look at the Sq footage it is not that much...but then when you are sharing a room with your growing kids...it starts to srink as you go through the week. POFQ is a smaller laid out resort, but I think that is not something that will bother you to much if you opt for the preferred room locations.

and were so surprised at how much we loved it. The theming was fun, the room nicer than anticipated and we the pools and food court were terrific.

We were up and out most days so the food court was never crowded then. The two days we slept in a little the food court was CRAZY.

I would stay there again but I want to try all the resorts. Right now we cannot decide between Pop Century and CSR. Save money or splurge on the pool/hot tub? I like these kind of problems though!

I think you'll enjoy it but it's all a matter of personal preference. We also booked connecting (got adjoining) rooms to allow for more space.

It always shocks me to see people complaining about long walks to the main area at the Pop. I realize it's all just opinion and how you percieve it, but I have stayed in some of the resorts when the walk was much worse and the fact that EVERYTHING is close at Pop is what we like about that resort the most.

It's funny how people see things differently....

I agree with you even tho I pay the difference for the preffered room. Pop is laid out so that no building is far away from the main building...although you may need to cut through a parking lot.

I haven't read everyone's responses, so I don't know if I'm repeating anything.

But, I've stayed at both and without a doubt, I'd choose POP over ASMo any day. We loved ASMo, for the theming, but I loved POP more for all of the following:

- Not as big/spread out.
- Own bus (ASMo is the last of the buses to drop off, of the AS resorts)
- The food court selections were AMAZING and not that ASMo's food was bad, but POP was better.
- I liked the layout of the store/eating area more here.
- I think all ages can appreciate this one more, because you will each get into whatever time period you grew up in or are most into.

I have stayed at Pop two times (will again in October!) and the All-Stars as well. Pop is the newest and I'd stay there hands down over any All-Stars.

Go Pop! I am a resort snob and love the moderates for their hot-tub. I also do better in a queen size bed, but you're not going to see that until you book a deluxe. Oh wait! If it's only 2 people you can *request* a king sized bed and you may be lucky at Pop.

I think the buses are fine at Pop *have waited very long times even at AKL* and wish you a great stay at WDW.
