Anyone stayed at Holiday Inn Family Suites?

We went there last August and are staying there again this August and December. I have 5 kids and also had the room with the bunkbeds. It's not the biggest of rooms but for the amount of time you are in your room it was fine. The only time we went to the pool was at night and it was empty. In the morning for breakfast was a little crowded but we were always able to get a table. Remember we were 7 people. The food was ok. For the price I think it was a good place to stay. Hope you enjoy your stay! I also heard that they are redesigning it in 2005 with a Nickoldeon theme.

We stayed there in July 2001. It is a great resort for kids! Yes, it was crowded, but I've never been to a resort at Orlando that wasn't? Unless, you want to go in Jan or Sept!

We loved it at the HIFS. Can't beat that free breakfast. Check out mousesavers. They were running a sale. buy one night get one free from the holiday inn. I'm not sure about your dates but give it a try. When we went we payed for five nights and got five free. Wonderful! Gina

havent stayed there personally but a coworker is almost as much of a disney freak as myself and she stayed there with her family in november... i consider her a very picky person and she had nothing But great things to say..she loved that the play area and kiddy pool were fenced and the kids couldnt undo the latch so she loved relaxing in the sun while her 4 year old(always into trouble) played and didnt worry about him getting out! She says its there new spot!

I just checked out mousesavers.com for the buy one night get one night free but i didnt see any. when was the last time you saw that special? We plan on staying there in july(10-21) We are military and can get the military/goverment rate for $119.oo a night but the buy one get one free seems like a better deal.

buy an Entertainment book! To book with the Entertainment card it's only $98 a night for those dates! You don't have to get the book for Orlando, you can get the one for your home town (they are usually $20-$25). You just have to show the card that is in the back of the book at check in. You can check the rates at reservations section of the hotel's web site (or just click here). Under room rate selection, choose Entertainment Card from the drop down list.

We enjoyed HIFS when we stayed in June '02! 6 of us, so for the price the rooms were great for us!! We all had free bkfst and we added an extra $10.00 a night to our room charge and my dh and I got to eat the buffet each night with a coupon, plus the kids were free for dinner too!! So, we saved alot on food alone! I looked at it again for this summer and it seems the room rates have gone up!

It was a little crowded, but we stayed in the parks all day that trip and it wasn't too bad!! I would recommend it!!

How were the shuttles from the HIFamily Suites to the parks? Did it take a lot longer? Etc?

I would not recommend the shuttle service. You have to reserve the night before and it only runs a few times a day. We stayed there last June and rented a car. We were able to get to the parks in 5 minutes. My kids were mad at me that we did not get to spend much time there, so this year we will have 3 off days for them to enjoy the pool and arcade.
