We are booked to stay there at the end of July and so I have been following the HoJo website for updates on the new pool but if it's not open will the other pool be okay for swimming or will it be crowded since it's the only one? I did read that they were testing water through the slides etc so I'll assume that's a good sign of it being on schedule.

It is my understanding that it is not so much of a new pool rather than a new water play area. Not sure how crowded the pool will be.

The posting order is still messed up, I posted after disneyfaninaz....

Yep, not a pool.

But the garden pool (aka THE pool, now) is pretty big!

I don't know how I went so long thinking it was going to remain a pool area (figured it out after getting back from HoJo late May), but nope, just a water play area (with a hot tub there).

I'm starting to get a complex with everybody's posts cutting in front of mine. ;)

We were there two weeks ago and they were working hard on the new pool area. We did not have any problems using the garden pool. The biggest crowd was less than 15 people total in and out of the pool. One afternoon it was just my boys, a couple with their grandson, and myself!

Our room looked out over the garden pool and I never saw very many people there at one time.

Thanks for the info...I just assumed there would be another pool! I think my kids will be too big for the play area but as long as there is a pool they'll be happy. We booked a Disney view awhile ago before we knew of the changes so we thought we'd have a pool near our room...is the garden pool far from the Disney view rooms? I looked into switching buildings but our rate is less than the other rooms for some reason. Sorry to ask so many questions but I know you're familiar with HoJo!

The garden pool is great!! My girls love it and it's very big. I wish they would put a hot tub in, hey Lorealle, there's a great spot over by the showers that would hold a nice size hot tub...LOL

just came back from there and I think you might luck out and the pool might be open by the time you go...its moving along nicely...being honest, the garden pool is packed...unless you stake a claim to a seat early in the day, your not going to get a chair...we were in bldg. 2 and my room looked out right at the pool...at least the blgd has good insulation and I didnt hear to much noise...your going to be there at a really hot time of the year so if the main pool isnt ready then you better prepare yourself for some crowds:confused3

And remember, the new "pool" is not a pool, but a water playground, if that makes a difference (to us it does because the kids are older and are not interested too much in water parks. Swimming, YES, but water parks, not so much.

We were at HOJO from the 11 to 18 of June. I thought the theme was a pirate ship. pirate: They did have slide pieces laying about but the area was flat concrete from what I could see. Wonder where the slides come down? :confused3 Just wondering!

I hope some one will take pics when its up so every one can look at it and figuer things out even if its just a water play area it may still be cool.

It appears to be a water play area only. I love that we won't have to worry so much about the younger kids wandering off and falling in a big pool. Here are some photos from HoJo's website:

It appears, from the photos, there are 2 slides. One looks like it's more for toddlers, and the other for the bigger kids. They both appear to flatten out at the end, slowing the kids to a stop where they can then get out.

Have you ever seen the slide at Paradise Pier Hotel's pool? It's entirely separate from the pool, and just ends in a flat area with some water in it. Perhaps it's going to be like that?

It looks a lot like what they have at Legoland (no coincidence since I believe it is designed by the same person). Legoland's playground is just that I remember. Just a slide with water. Not a pool by any stretch of the imagination.
