Hi

we are i the process of booking our disney wedding - we are considering staying with all of our guests at the coronado springs resort - the deluxe ones are way too expensive, but i am worried about the coronado springs not being nice enough!

has anyone stayed there before - any advice welcome...

I stayed there for 3 nights when we had our planning session, It's BIG! but it's still a nice resort however I personally feel Port Orleans Riverside is a nicer, more romantic Moderate.

I have stayed at Coronado Spings and loved it. Great marguerita's.
however diven a choice I would stay at Port Orleans. Coronado Springs is a convention center and there are always tons of people there on business.

I am staying there for my disney wedding/honeymoon in July. This man's site is what made me choose this hotel. I was torn between POR and CSR. Here is his site. He is always on the resorts page.

I stayed at Coronado Springs a few years ago with my niece for a weekend trip. It was nice, the room was big, and it was quiet, which is important to me. It is a BIG resort though, and it was a long walk from our room to the dining areas. I like Caribbean Beach, I think it's romantic, but I'm biased because DH and I spent our first Disney weekend there when we were first dating. I haven't stayed there in 2 years so I don't know what condition it is in; CB is an older resort. CS is nice, though, I don't think you would be disappointed.

I've stayed at Coronado numerous times while taking a weekend jaunt to Disney. The rooms are nicely arranged and the colors are warm, mostly green, blue and goldish yellow. The resort is huge and there's a lot of walking needed since there's a big lake in the middle. If you're putting guests up there find out what's near the main pool or which buildings are near check in. If you're not near check in it's a 15 minute walk at least to the food areas or gift shops at the resort. The showers are good sized, but the biggest disadvantage is you only have one sink in the room. You get 2 sinks at port orleans and carribbean beach. BUt with POrt Orleans and Coronado you get the air conditioning you control from a digital monitor. I love Coronado but it's not as romantic and sweet as Port ORLEANS. But it is nice and very well themed. Hope it helps!

I will be there this weekend and I will give a small report here for you when I return with pictures etc. If you have any particular questions I will try to find out for you while I am there. :wave2:

We stayed there when we went for our planning session. Unfortunately, our experience was not pleasant (mind you we had already blocked that hotel for our guests)

When we checked in late b/c our flight was delayed it was pouring outside, we brought all of our stuff in the lobby. Soaked, we check in to 2 rooms. We paid for 2 doubles, with a water view. when we get to the room, they are all the way in the back of the resort, and the rooms were not nice at all.

When my dad called to complain (he's actually a cast member), they said yes, you booked the waterview rooms, and you are in the standard rooms, come to the desk and we'll fix it for you. Fair enough, we trek back, soaked from head to toe, and when we get back to the desk and wait on the long line, we're told nope, that they were sold out of waterviews and we had to go back to the rooms we came from. (we were told quite nastily that we were expected to understand since he was a cast member. My response "i'm sorry, aren't we guests too????") Exhausted and about 10pm, we were pretty upset. Finally after enough arguing, and threatning to pull all of my guest rooms from that hotel, They put us in standard rooms a little closer, and agreed to move us the next morning. It was inconvenient, b/c we were only staying 2 nights, but we wanted what we paid for. At least they made it right by lowering the rate and comped us dinner in the peppermart while we waited for those two rooms to be cleaned.

All in all, it was no great shakes, but most of our guests who are staying there are our age, and they don't care either way about hotels, they just want to have fun. If I could do it over, i'd choose PO.

We chose the Coronodo Springs for our Wedding. We had 100 guests staying and it was GREAT. What we really liked about it was the BIG pool area is far away from any of the rooms and we all met at the hot tub everynight and had lots of fun and never had any complaints from the hotel, the night of our Wedding everyone was at the pool until 4am and security didn't say anything. We also really liked peppers market, it's very well priced and you have a variety of foods, that was our meeting spot every morning and night.
It was also great to have a spa/salon right there for my nails and lots of our guests had there hair done.
Only 2 couples had problems checking in because they arrived very late at night.
As far as the conference center, they had a very large group and we never saw any of them, they are in meetings all day.
I highly recommend it.

I have pics up of Coronado from a past trip. It's on one of my webshots pages. user/kappaluvtep It's under Disney Trip, the 4th one down I think. Hope it helps some!
I'm fairly new so I can't post the link but if you go to the website after the dot-com part add backslash user and my user name's above.

we have stayed at Coronado twice before and will be staying there for our wedding in December with all of our guests. We have stayed at all of the moderates and Coronado is my favorite -- I just love the atmosphere and theming of it, it's really quite similiar to a 5 star resort we stayed at in Mexico last year. It is very large, but we kind of considered that as an advantage b/c that way all of our guests could be in the same resort w/o being right on top of each other. You won't be dissapointed -- it's gorgeous!

that would be great thanks x

after reading the replies, i am now considering port orleans too. let me know what you think of the resorts - i dont think the rooms have balconies though, but this isn't a major problem.

have a grea time on your trip x
