We are thinking of staying the night before the cruise at Vero Beach. We are DVC members and haven't had the chance to see this resort.

Does anyone know how much time it takes to drive to port from Vero Beach Resort?

Thanks,
DJ

I thimk it tales aboit 1 1/2 hours to the port from VB.
Its a lovely resort. Hopefully you'll have time to enjoy its beauty.

My family stayed at VB for 5 nights last November, on the last day (Thursday), we took a drive up A1A to see the Wonder in port on our way to Dixie Crossroads in Titusville. I believe it took us about 1 and 1/2 hours to drive from VB to Cape Canaveral.

we stayed at vero beach before our cruise this past summer and really enjoyed it, only downside there was those pesky no-see-ums, they had a feast with me. we stayed in a large unit with a gardenview and had more space than we knew what to do with, big change over when we got on the ship as we had a cat. 11 inside. when we went to the ship we drove along a1a and it was a senic ride, maybe took us 1 and a half hours.

Thanks everyone! DH and I decided to go for it! We only have time to stay one night before the cruise, but it will give us a chance to check out the resort to see if we would like to go back again sometime. Since we can get into the terminal until after 10:30 am, it shouldn't be too rough getting up and going to the cruise the next morning.

The hour and a half sounds accurate. It's up I95 and fairly good travelling. We stayed at VB in Feb/00 for a couple of nights before our cruise. We liked it so much we went back for a week the following winter and took our kids on a visit last year.

The resort is fantastic. Lots to do with or without kids and is a great way to warm up for the cruise - everything Disney - or a great way to cool down after Orlando - it's much, much quieter!

I would highly recommend VB and don't miss Sunday brunch at Sonya's if you get the chance.

GREAT resort! We have stayed there several times before cruises. Easy drive to the port either up A1A or I 95 - about 1 to 1 1/2 hrs. Gorgeous place, delightful atmosphere. You will absolutely love it!

Wow! Thanks everyone for the responses! I'm even MORE excited now about staying there then before!

I am sure 1 night isn't enough to really enjoy everything, but at least it is a chance to 'check it out' and see what the resort is like so we can decide if we want to go again sometime.

Thanks again for the information. Since they don't let you even into the terminal until 10:30, the 1 1/2 drive shouldn't be a problem for us getting to the ship (we do like to be one of the first to board :sunny: ).

Now, we just have to wait for the 7 month window to make the reservations AND wait for the cruise! Oh, I wish we could be like Barb and Tony and go several times a year!
