Do any of you stay at any of the tesorts in Downtown Disney? I have heard they are cheaper and/or more value for the same money. We usually stay at moderates, but would like info on other options. I'm sure bus transportation to DTD is not a problem.
Thanks

I had a conference a few years ago and stayed at one of the DTD resorts, I think it has changed hands since then. The prices are a bit less than the disney resorts, but you do miss out on some disney perks. The transportation to the parks is not as frequent as at the disney resorts. For the most part these hotels do not participate in the EMH perk, so no early entry or late nights in the parks. You can walk to DTD from the hotels, so that is convienient. Also, these hotels are not disney themed, so you will miss out on that.

In July 1997 my family and I stayed at the Regal Sun Resort which at the time was called the Grosvenor. While it was a nice Hotel it's nothing like staying at a WDW Resort, plus the one thing we hated was their bus transportation to the parks because it was horrible. However I would assume since then it might have changed and is better. Finally the only Hotel in that area where guests can take part in EMH is at the Hilton, so it's not available at the other Hotels.

We stayed at the Marriott in 2002. I found an amazing deal ....it was $20.02 per night!!! AMAZING!! We booked two rooms, one for us and one for my parents. We were on I think the 10th floor and could see Epcot's fireworks from the balcony. Transportation was good. No problems and we were super close to DTD.

Luvmic49 I just posted a long review of the DTS at DTD. We just returned yesterday and I cannot say enough great things about the hotel. We got a Mousesavers special of $109 per night which included continental breakfast for 4 and it was great. We will definitely return there on a future trip to Disney.:)

I highly recommend the Best Western Lake Buena Vista. Quiet, pretty, comfortable, etc. Shuttles run every half hour to parks starting at 8:00am. DTD buses run from 6:00pm till 3:00am.
