We are headed there in February, just wondering if it's totally weird with the rest of the resort being closed. I don't think it will bother us, but I just wonder if the experience will be disappointing? Just curious what others have experienced while staying there.

The construction was really a non-issue as they do most of it at night. One night I was walking and could actually see them soldering up on the Ceremonial House beams! Some nights I did hear a metal on metal banging but it was not very disruptive and it actually took me some time to figure out that it was connected to the construction
The Ceremonial House is quiet but Kona Café is still open as is Capt. Cook's so there are nice food options available. Plus you can always go to the other monorail resort restaurants. It is an easy walk to the Ticket and Transportation Center to get the monorail so that was not a big deal.
