We are managing to squeeze in another trip to WDW in August. We are booked at CBR with the DC discount.Today I received an e-mail for Marriott for $39.00 per night,$119.00 Fri and Sat.I normally would never consider staying off property.BUT for a savings of $250. I'm considering it.I have an AP so I am hoping for a good rate come closer to our date. But there is alot of comments about the AP rates being sold out early this time around.
Has anyone stayed there??What are your thoughts and opinions of this hotel??Since it is part of the property can we participate in EE ??

Thanks for any input !
Heidi

It's an OK hotel. Clean, decent size rooms. You can participate in EE last time I checked. No Disney "Magic" there though, like at the inside resorts. The busses are good except that they stop at about 6 other hotels also. For the money, it's great. You are very close to DTD & PI, too far to walk though.

Heidi,
What are the details of your $39 rate for the Marriott? We are Marriott reward members and I didn't receive this email.

we've stayed at CTyd twice, it is good value, clean, nothing extraordinary, but not too shabby either. We were allowed to do EE when we were there, also to ship pkgs back to room from different gift shops in parks. They have a manager's reception in the early evening. Busses are shared with other DTD hotels, but not a bad ride usually, they are charter, so more comfortable than some of the Dis busses, and have better a/c for hot summer days.

One thing you might double check, the good rates at Ctyd are usually non-refundable, and sell out quickly. So, if you're waiting on AP rates, you might not want to book Ctyd. Just a heads up....

There are alot of threads on the Ctyd on the Budget Board, too, if you'd like more info.

Hope you have a great trip!

There is a huge thread about this Marriot on the budget board. It is being offered for 20.03 per night right now until the end of Aug. An unbelievable rate! Hope this info helps someone!

Not positive but I think the $20.03 rate runs between Aug.10- Oct. 2 and you need to call the hotel direct.

The first thread listed for this forum has the link for the $39 rate. Here's a link:

It is valid Sun-Thurs from Aug 10th - Oct 2nd
It is non-refundable, and needs to be paid upon booking, so I backed out.

I called on Sunday for the $20.03 offer and the only dates for August (after August 13th) that were available were Aug 19, 24, 26, 27, 28.
She said a lot of Sept dates were still available...

Thanks for the info. But no good rates during our stay. We are going in June. Too late for the $25 rate and too early for the $20.03 rate and the $39 rate. We have 2 free nights from a Marriott rewards promotion and I have $75 in Marriott gift cards. So, right now, the gift cards only give us one night.

But, we are staying the rest of the time at the Dolphin for $81! Yay!

I stayed at this hotel two years ago because I had enough points for a 7 night stay. It was worth the "free" stay but not one that I would particularly book again if I had to choose. The rooms were clean. You just don't feel the magic. However, I did receive the email for $39.00 a night and for that price why not?

MaggieW: Is that room rate of $81.00 a special promo or is that available to everyone?

I've stayed here before and absolutely love it.

I just called about the $20.03 rate, & the girl never heard of it before & was just showing a $79 rate....we are going to wdw Aug 23-30....is there a special number I should be calling? I called 1-800-321-2211....she asked me if there was a special code....I even told her the rate was just Sunday thru Thursday...do you think I just got a person who was mis-informed?

suedrews,

you might want to call the hotel directely. i had trouble with the 1-800 number also. however, i was able to book the last week of aug thru early week of sept without problems. also, it is best to call the hotel directly during the day. it seems that after 5:30 p.m. the calls are switched to a "central" location and was not knowledgeable regarding the 20.03 rate.

hope this helps

You do have to call the hotel directly for the 20.03 rate.
