Anyone stay a couple of hours North of Orlando on I-75

We are going for March Break week. We are checking out of WDW on the Friday and originally I had planned on staying off site for the night. But I am thinking we mights as well put a couple of hours of driving in and get a bit of a headstart on the crowd, especially since I know they will catch up to us while I am shopping. We might make it to Valdosta depending on when we leave WDW but I would like to have a back up plan. Anyone ever stayed in Ocala or anywhere else in Northern Flordia.

Friday we are going to AK and maybe to Blizzard Beach but I figure we can be on the road by 6:00 pm. We really don't want to drive much past 9:00 pm as we will be worn out from being at the parks all day.

A few years ago we stayed at the Hilton in Ocala -- had some sort of coupon deal for it, I believe out of the Entertainment Book but can't quite remember. Anyway it was quite nice and there are quite a few hotels and restaurants around Ocala. We stopped on the way down as we wanted to arrive at WDW early the next day. Hope this helps a little.

Ocala is only and hour and twenty minutes from Orlando. It is three hours to the Georgia border. We have stayed in Lake City, FL, Gainesville, FL, Lake Park, Georgia and Valdosta, Georgia on the way down to Florida. There are many nice hotels in this area. I personally would try and drive the three hours to Georgia because it can make such a difference on the next day's drive to already be out of Florida.

We usually stay at Hampton Inn's. If you go to their website you can find out exactly what exit their hotels are at in northern Florida and southern Georgia. Their rooms include a breakfast buffet. It's not a hot buffet, but it is more than enough and this saves you both money and time in the morning.

Have a wonderful trip!! I wish I was going with you after dealing with all this snow this week. Third snow day this week is just about doing me in.

We have stayed at a Hampton Inn in Dalton, Georgia. It's a bit further north. We left Disney in the afternoon, stopped for dinner then drove on. The hotel was right off the highway and had a great continental breakfast in the morning.
