Anyone Started Christmas Shopping Yet?

I know that there's still 18 weeks to go, but has anyone picked up any bargains in the Summer sales? When I was on holiday in the New Forest, the Disney Store in Southampton had started its sale. I picked up loads of bags, purses, t-shirts and other bits and pieces for my daughters and their friends. Also when we went to WDW in March I picked up little souvenirs and put them away for Crimbo.

I can't wait for all the cards, wrapping paper and stuff to be in the shops once the kids have gone back to school.

So its 18 weeks today to my favourite time of the year (next to holidaying in WDW) so that means I'll be putting my tree up in 14 weeks !! - Yippeeee.

Let me be the first to wish you all

A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS !!!

 Its a bit late for you, you've normally got everything by now! So, Mum, what you bought me?

LOL Mandy,

You're like Woolies, getting all the Christmas gear in early!!

We won't be doing any Christmas shopping this year as unforunately we won't be at home for Christmas.....LOL we will be in WDW!!!!!!

We have agreed with my family that we will celebrate when we get back in January (apart from those of us that are in WDW and we will celebrate there) so I shall do all my Christmas shopping in Florida. This will be a new experience for us!!

As we leave home on 8th December I won't even bother with a tree this year; it hardly seems worth it.

Happy Christmas to you too Mandymouse and everyone else!!

Cheers

Karen

PS Great thread

I usually have started by now, but not this year:)

The kids are getting older so dont want as many present as such, they only want the money  and I cant buy that :teeth:

I have probably got 1/2 of mine :) I tend to pick up stuff throughout the year. I have loads of cards and wrapping paper from the new year sales.

No not started yet - I like doing my Christmas shopping when all the christmas tunes are being played and all the shops are decorated!!;)

I tend to start my shopping in early October and as this year at that time I shall be in the Far East I may do quite a bit then.

I'd never put my tree up as early as the begining of Dec though.
I LOVE Christmas and somehow jumping the gun by putting it up so early, would spoil the tradition we have of decorating the weekend before Christmas. For us it makes it really special that it's just for a couple of weeks.

Have started making my Christmas cards! Started that back in January! Not planning on a big Christmas this year, clearing an overdraft and trying to save as well for May, but will buy a few things in New York in October.

I havn't started yet, DH always stops me and says you will only get in a mood in December when you wanna go shopping and you have bought everything:rolleyes: I did get a couple of things from the boots sale for DD but thats it.

Christmas is my favourite time of year. My 7ft tree always gos up in the 1st and all the decs, I also spend a fortune on candles and the smallys for the living room.

I'm going to be getting a few things from the christmas shop when we go over in 12 days:jumping1:

I love doing Christmas shopping when the shops have all the Christmassy stuff in, but I hate the crowds - they seem to get worse each year. I do as much as possible on the internet these days.

My dds are 19 and 16 now and I still only buy them surprise pressies. One year they chose everything and we all felt Christmas Day was a huge anti-climax even though I wrapped up all the presents and did a Treasure Hunt to make it a bit more interesting.

I can never wait to buy the tree (in fact we have had two in recent years) - always the first week of December. As a child I used to be inconsolable when it was time for the decorations to come down and I still hate it now.

Haven't started just yet, I usually leave it until about October.

I did see Father Christmas in Harrods yesterday though! It was all quite odd, him in his snowy grotto, with the sun beaming down outside!
