I started in January for the kids and have a few items already. I shop the 75% off racks frequently, b/c I have a large family so I like me some deals.
Yes, when we were in WDW in Feb. -- everybody gets a little bit of Disney for Xmas. Since then I've been taking advantage of the end of season sales on clothing, etc. -- now looking for snowboots at a great price.
I've already put away gift cards I've earned from e-rewards and My Points to use as Christmas presents. Yesterday I was at Hollister and they had sweaters and blouses for $9.90! They were each $50 originally! I like to pick things up throughout the year that lessens the expenses in November & December!
I havn't yet but it's always in the back of my mind. I am making a list for when we go to disney to try t get some stuff esp. for my nephews, SIL and other kids I have to buy for.
Yes indeed! I always start in January..I have a large family with lots of kids so I stock up for Christmas and birthdays all year. About 2/3 to 3/4 done
I started Dec.26th! I also have a mental list going of other things to be on the look out for. When we go to WDW in October, we are planning on picking up MIL's gift (already now what it is, just need to locate it).
Last x-mas DS3 wanted Spike (that big remote control dinosaur), well we couldn't swing $130, it would have blown his whole x-mas budget, after x-mas Walmart had it for $99.99, still wouldn't spend that. I told DH that if it went down to $79 I'd pick it up for next year. DH and DD11 came home from Walmart a few weeks later and DH pulls me aside and says, I know you said not to buy spike until it came down to 79, but I bought it tonight because they only had one left. Alright...how much was it? $59.99, hope it was okay that I got it tonight...ummm...YEAH!!!!
Started in January when I booked our Dec. trip .
I also picked up a couple of stocking stuffers when Old Time Pottery was have theire after Christmas clearance sale.
Of course! I'm probably 50% done -- and those things I've bought are already wrapped and tagged! I always start in January/February when things are clearanced. I'll finish the extended family during the summer, but I'll wait 'til closer to Christmas for my daughters so I can accomodate their last-minute requests.
I wish. My DS's b-day is in a month, and I don't even have anything for that, yet. A month after that is DD and DMom, then a month after that is another DD's, then a few days later, DH and DMIL. If I make it through the summer b-days, I'll start Christmas. And the last two DD's b-days, one just before Christmas, one right after. There's too much.......
Actually I saw a really cute luggage set for dd on disney shopping.com that I might pick up when DH gets paid on Friday. If I put that away now, I'll officially start! Plus my mom wanted to get something for my kids for Easter, and last week I picked up my two ds each a sweatshirt at abercrombie for $15 ! I think I should head back there and get more to put away for Christmas.
I've also only been thinking about it. My DD birthday is less than a month after Christmas. So I'm shopped out for a while after the new year starts...I'll probably start with the Christmas in July sales on QVC and work from there. Undecided on whether to get DD a Didji or a DS for Christmas. That'll be her big big present from me.
She is my only child, the only grandchild, my brothers only niece, the only great-niece, and the only great-grandchild.She's covered for Christmas, even if I didn't get her anything.
But trying to save for Disney so not going crazy like I did last year.
I have things in mind to buy but do my shopping in the summer when we have more money, which I hope is true this summer. I used to do it with the Christmas bonus but shopping that time of year and no guarantee of a bonus has made me start earlier. I only have my 3 kids to buy for and our 2 mothers. My kids have so much stuff that is is hard for me to figure out what to get for them. So far I have only come up with a digital camera for my 11 year old and she won't care the brand or the price and a radio for my DS's car and he won't care the brand or the price so I can look for deals on that. My oldest DD is picky and pretty much only likes gift cards or cash. My MIL is the hardest to shop for as is my DH. My mom is too easy, everything I see I want to buy for her. Here's hoping I have some summer cash this year otherwise I don't know what I will do.
