Anyone shop at Buy Buy Baby?

Or are you familiar with their price matching practice?

We're expecting baby number 3 in early November but it's pretty much all new for us as baby number 2 is now 6 1/2! And this time it is a girl! Anyway, I honestly can't believe HOW expensive everything is in just the last 7-9 years since having my first two. We purchased (or were gifted) a travel system that was under $200 back in 2008 (stroller, car seat AND base). I'm seeing these same systems for $300-$700.

Any way, all irrelevant to my question but had to vent! I found a stroller at Buy Buy Baby that I really liked. Regularly $399, on sale for $349. Still a little more than I'd like to spend. I looked up the stroller online and found a website called Albee Baby. Apparently they're also a physical store in NY. They have it listed for $239, free shipping. Sure, I can do this but I'd rather not have to deal with the return if it becomes necessary and would rather go in store.

Also, I'm wondering if I can use a 20% off coupon for BBB in conjunction with the price match (the stroller brand is not part of their long list of exclusions). Their policy says they will price match stores that have physical and online retail. But their website (Albee) doesn't list their physical location so I wasn't sure if anyone had experience with getting a price match from Albee at BBB? And does anyone have experience with getting a price match AND using a coupon? BBB is a good 20 minute drive so I thought I'd ask if anyone has any experience before making the drive and finding out myself.

Thank you!

You cannot use a coupon and a price match. It's one or the other. Most times, I found that BBB was the best price with the coupons, except for strollers (some brands are excluded).

Congrats on your third!

I'm in ny and Albee baby is a great store with a huge selection and the best prices.

Buy buy baby will price match if it's considered a competitor but will not also let you use a 20off coupon. Also the 20off coupon excludes a lot of big name brands.

Thank you! Albee's price will still be better (you're right, it's a stroller!). I would still pay $239 for the stroller but thought that since it wasn't excluded from the brands listed they might take that too. Oh well, I'd still rather buy it in BBB then a store I'd have to ship the product back to across the country if it doesn't work out for some reason. It's still a $110 off BBB's best price!

Yea, I just wasn't sure if Albee was considered a competitor since BBB's policy states they must be a physical and online competitor (except for Amazon). They aren't a physical competitor to our store in So Cal but we'll see! And surprisingly, the coupon doesn't exclude the stroller brand I'm looking at. But it looks like it won't work with the price match any way. I'll give it a shot just for kicks. Maybe I'll get lucky with an inexperienced cashier.

Can you go see the stroller in person somewhere and then if you like, buy from Albee? That is what I did when I had to rebuy (6 years between babies #2 and #3 :) ).

And CONGRATS on baby #3!! So happy for you!

Thank you! :lovestruc

That's what we did at BBB. We really liked the sturdiness and quality of this particular stroller along with all the features. My only issue with Albee is their return policy :crazy2: We'd have to return within 60 days of purchase for full refund - which baby won't be here by then. But my fear if I wait is that the price will go back up to $349 or $399. I don't anticipate for there to be issues (5 star reviews) but you just never know! Plus we'd have to pay for shipping return costs. However, Albee doesn't charge tax - so there's another plus for them ($20+ difference!). Decisions decisions! My head is spinning :faint:

It was definitely a no-go with the coupon plus price match. But they were willing to price match. I didn't do it right then but I think I will just buy from BBB. It will be a much easier return if need be. I'll just lose out on the $20+ in taxes.

I'm so indecisive about it all! When did babies get so expensive? :crazy2: And now there's all this unnecessary equipment that there never was over 8 years ago - I say if I got by without it then I can get by without it now.
