most commercials are of happy, upper middle class folks enjoying their McDs....this commercial strikes a different cord...that there are those who do without and McDonalds is here to help. Perhaps the best 2020 commercial ( non-covid) about a country not unified.

Good commercial, McD. I like it.
no ...it has the fire department...the one I saw and shocked by ,shows people living day to day and not houses....but same theme....I wonder if region oriented because the link you have is more upper class where the one i saw was folks living on the edge or paycheck to paycheck....sort of.. I was just taken back by what they showed.

The McD commercial I saw deals with the food insecurity so many people are facing nowadays. Way too many people standing in food lines now, if one looks at the national news clips. :( My local news is always showing the many food pantries scattered around the city giving out a grocery bag full of food, while many stand in line for hours to get one.

The McD commercial was about how a customer was standing in line deciding if he should get chicken nuggets or a big mac. He didn't have the money for both. McD has a special where one can pick both for the price of one.

McD showed they certainly know their customer base, and that they understand the food and monetary choices some of them are forced to make now. And that there is still a way to feel "normal" for those that just want to be able to have chicken nuggets, AND find they can have a big mac, too, (for a meal later.) :(

The McD's here have the special that is buy one at regular price, get a second one (your choice) for $1. But for Pete's sake, a quarter pounder with cheese is $5.29, so add $1 and it's $6.29 for 2. Big Macs are I think 10 cents less than quarter pounders, and a filet of fish is like $5.09. And they wonder why people can't afford McD's often???

Yes, every once in a while I get a craving for a filet-o-fish. I go in and at $5.09  I remember why I don't have that craving very often. (aside frombeing a heart attack on a bun.) They have BOGO deals for it, or one for $3, usually only before Easter, to get the Lent crowd.

No idea about New York..but I live in a tiny little city in Western MD,,can't even imagine what their prices are in a big city! lol

Hey, our burgers and filet-o-fish come with a NY accent. ;) :teeth:
Just checked here on the McD app, suburban Chicago. Filet-O-Fish, $3.49. Buy one, get a 2nd for $1 more. Comes with a Chicago accent.

Downtown Chicago, $4.29. Even a bigger Chicago accent. :)

McDonald's prices have risen in my area also. And they will continue to go up as the minimum wage goes up.

Do what I do. Buy a bag of Fish Fillets (sandwich shape), heat them up in the oven and put it on a bun with some cheese. I think the fish fillets cost about $6 for the bag of maybe 8.

Fillet of Fish $6.24 in Seattle. Still popular though as there is huge number of delivery drivers picking up orders every time I drive by.

I don't eat fast food because I like fast food. I eat fast food because I can't heat up food in the oven or otherwise cook food that the moment.

When you live in the country, any time you go anywhere, lunch or dinner has to be planned in the outing.
