Hi, I was just wondering if anyone has noticed the rabbit in the MK.

My DD, last December, discovered it in the gardens next to the bridge going to tomorrowland. It was sort of brownish gray. She named him Ghirardelli.

I think it was the highlight of her trip.......hmmmm.....that was one expensive rabbit!!::yes::

Ha ha, funny you should ask. I was just there Tuesday and I saw a brown small rabbit exactly where you described it. It hopped into the bushes before anyone else noticed. Monday night I saw a big owl (it was real because I saw it fly from perch to perch) on top of the Mouse Works building in Epcot... Wonder if he knows about the rabbit at the Magic Kingdom.

We were at MK for early entry last Friday and there were several little rabbits eating in the grass not far from the castle. Everyone was rushing by to get to the rides and not noticing, but there were a bunch of them and they were really cute--an overlooked attaction! We also saw a family of ducks hiding in the bushes. And we have seen bunnies that the GF and Poly too.

I too have seen the bunnies both at EPCOT and the MK but nothing beats seeing the ducks and their babies at the WL hanging out around the pool, not to mention the deer along the nature trail in the morning.....I have also seen wild turkeys on the trail. This past trip I was surprised by a raccoon not to far from the WL building it's self. I love seeing all the wildlife up there it just makes my trips a little more magical:flower1:

i've seen the rabbit to but last summer we saw a cute little cat over by the potc going into frontier land. i called to it but it kept on going. made me miss my kitty all the more.

We have seen the bunnies at MK as well. But my son's all time favorite was when we saw the armadillo at AK right outside Kali River Rapids. He crossed the walking path right in front of us and went behind the Fast pass machines, then over to the other walking path and back in the bushes. My son thought it was great.

We saw a little rabbit over at Epcot, we also saw the stupid mother who was letting her little girl (around 2), chase it into a corner and try to pick it up. Sorry mom but that is a wild animal and I would not letting my little one get bite.

I am constantly amazed by the number of people who spend thousands of $$$ on their WDW trip and are consumed with the rabbit and duck sightings. Don't they have them where you live or is it something you have absolutely never seen before!

This is Florida. There is wildlife everywhere.

Hey it is their $$, if they want to spend it looking at ducks and rabbits I say go for it!

When I was on the Hay ride at FW, we saw a ton of deer and by the way some people reacted I don't think they had ever seen them before....I don't think if you live in NYC you see Deer everday...and I know I don't see an armadillo everyday...LOL

It is the little things that excite some of us about Disney, I would find it pretty cool to be walking along and see an Owl!!

I don't think anyone is here consumed with the sightings, they were just saying how cute it is to be there and see a duck family i the water.

I think it is so cute that your DD named the bunny Ghirardelli.

Lots of wildlife can be found around WDW. Rabbits, squirrels, deer, armadillos, ducks, birds of pray, otters, raccoons, snakes and rodents, as well as alligators, can be quite often (they were here first, after all.)
Once I was driving some guests to the Grand Floridian, and we passed a family of deer grazing beside the road just after dusk. The mom totally freaked out, as did the kids, but dad "knew" that they were "just robots"...

LOL That is so funny, that is what I mean.....I live in CT where we see Deer all the time....but not everyone has that luxury (well not a luxury when they are running out in front of your car)

Speaking of ducks, I just remembered that when I rode BTMRR on Tuesday there was a male and female duck wading in the 'hot springs' towards the end of the ride. I and few of my fellow passengers chuckled at the sight. Well, so much for that illusion.

Ok--since someone else mentioned alligators...my dh almost wrecked the van last week b/c he swears he saw a little alligator peering from one of the ponds surrounded by the roadway on property. I told him he was nuts, but maybe not??

We have all kinds of wildlife in our own backyard, but we are always thrilled to see the bunnies (and anything else)...there's nothing like seeing Thumper in his natural habitat around the castle!

Um, that's just a bit patronizing and insulting, imho. Of course they know there is wildlife everywhere in Florida. (And, btw, there is wildlife in *all* the states :teeth: ). The wild animals at WDW--bunnies, squirrels; etc--are extremely tame compared to the ones at home. It is fun to see them going about their business despite the hundreds of noisy guests. Life is more beautiful when you can find joy in even the little things.

Yep I saw three, too! The last time I was at the MK was on Easter! So of course my friends and I got a kick out of it. So technicoly we saw the Easter Bunnies! :) hehe!

They're out there. Next time take a closer look along the waterways especially at the golf courses as you pass by, I see them frequently.

We have bunnies and squirrels along the que area at the Safari. I see many bunnies (Wild African Hares ;) ) while driving the Safari. I think it's cute when a child in the vehicle will shout out " LOOKIT the BUUUNNNNY!!!" with sheer delight , while there's white rhino, giraffe or zebra, etc, almost within arms length of the vehicle :p :)

Once while at the unloading dock position I noticed there was an owl, a very large owl, in the tree opposite where I stood.

Gotta agree with alliecats on this one. We're bird watchers-love to watch the different birds at WDW. Why? Aren't there birds in Texas? Saw a bunny contently munching a lovely flower display in Epcot. Also saw a bunny near CP in MK, just before Wishes. And in MGM, there's a mother duck and about 12 baby ducklings near Dinosaur Gerties. The CM I talked to said most people are so set on where there going, she has to watch they don't step on the ducklings. Isn't that a shame? I thought they were so cute!

Yes and there was an alligator in the waterway in front of Splash Mountain behind the Turkey leg stand. We thought it was fake, but weren't sure. Finally my husband asked a cast member and they told him it was real. They were trying to capture it. On our next visit we saw the cage under the bridge for trapping the gators. Somewhere in my millions of pictures, we have a picture of it. It was definately an interesting thing to see. AND WE LIVE IN FLORIDA so we can see them any time.

We still look for them when we go back. I think it is cool.
