i stayed at BCV AUgust 1-8 and would watch him, from the bridge, each day.

Saw her last November. I wonder if she has grown? Don't they ahve to move her once she reaches a certain lenghth accoding to Flordia law? I think thsi was a thread awhiel back?

yes
the greeter, "ART", told me that, they will move the alligator, when it is larger.
I come from the wichita,ks area and had never really seen an alligator, roaming free
I wonder what it eats??

We were told yesterday that they have called animal control a few times, but each time she hides back under the bridge. Once the animal decides to venture to the banks they will extract it like the other one.

One day while at the MK, we saw someone from WDW "animal Control" trying to catch a gator that was hanging around the bridge near where the Splash logs go around after the big drop. He said they had tried to catch her many times and she even had been named, but I forget what. He was not successful that day. He said she was very clever and would slip away easy. She would come over to try to get the birds when people would feed them over the bridge. Apparetnly, there had been a few "disney moments" of that type. Eeeuuuuwwww.

Anyway, he said that by law, they can't move them under a certain length - I think 5' - because they are considered babies. But after that - they get them out when they can.

I was told the same thing over at Coronado Springs, where I would advise you NOT to let your kids play in the grass by the water. :-)

Yes we saw it too w/o 8/9- My mom was facinated and we would watch from our balcony. We also saw many turtles swimming along side. It was quite entertaining and just a little scary to think think it could crawl out. I'm sure another will show up when they take that one out.

We saw him/her in Sept. I got a really fabulous picture of the full length of the body (with about 8 turtles around it). Haven't quite mastered posting pictures yet.

Freaked out alot of my family when I got home and showed them who "stayed" with us at BCV

We were there on opening day of BCV and "Allie Gator" was there too. We watched as they tried everything to catch her, marshmellows apparently are a gator favorite but she wouldn't bite. She had chicken that day too, but went under the bridge when they got too close.
They said she wandered in because the construction crew fed her from their lunch every day she decided to stay. I have seen CM's tell people not to feed her but as soon as the CM leaves they start the feeding again.
I saw her go under water once and grab a fish. We didn't see her or the fish come up but an oil slick formed right where they were. I am assuming that was some of the oils from the fish that became dinner.
I hope I am there to see them catch her, we have been watching her grow for over a year now. Peggie

WE saw him in July! It was the first time I have ever seen an Alligator in Fl. Strange huh? There were some boys throwing rocks at his snout.

Of course I asked them if I could do that to them. ;)

Here is a pretty decent one of Allie at the BCV. http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=177&papass=&sort=1&thecat=500

I don't know how to get the actual picture to appear here.

I have seen an alligator there for the last 4 years every time we have gone there. I don't know if it is the same one or not. We have actually seen it up on the land once. We missed that pic since it ran down in the water the minute it heard us. (Thank goodness it ran in that direction)

I believe it is a $500 fine by florida law to feed alligators. Someone can correct me.

She only goes in the quiet pool......after midnight. The chlorine is good for her eyes. :scared1:
