Anyone see the All Star Game tonight?

Yup.. it looked great.

I also enjoyed President Obama in his White Sox jacket... he looked cute!
It has been a lonnng time since I have used the word President and cute in the same sentence! ;)

I know the Cubs and Cardinals are arch rivals... but I wish Cardinal fans would not have booed the Cub players..

All and all it was a fun night at Busch Stadium for the All Star Teams.

Yup we watched it!!! Woohoo Shane Victorinio got a hit his first at bat!! :yay::yay:

We watched the Home Run Derby the night before and thought the field looked great!!! It was a fun couple of days there!

I studied Turfgrass management and designs that complex are not possible, same with the Red Sox Logo at Fenway; they are painted not rolled against the grain.

President Obama came up short and did not reach the plate with his folly floater.

Did you go? Who they booing? I know Pujouls sounds like booing.

The only person that I know that got booed with relish was Obama.

I did not go however I am listening to the recaps on the radio where they are discussing it.

They were talking about the Cardinals fans the other day and how they boo their own players only on very rare occasions. In fact the announcer only remembered one player who was boo'ed on a regular basis: Jason Isringhausen.

I was not at Busch.. I was watching on Fox. I thought I heard booing when the Cub player was announced, Lilly I think.. could be wrong though... really.. I did not hear so much Booing when Obama came up. Pujols looked really excited to be there with Obama

sorry if I goofed up guys about the booing...
I just am not a fan of booing anybody...

As for the All Star game and all of it's festivities... It seemed like everyone had a good time at all the events.

I watched the Legends Softball game on Monday Night, (again on TV.) Ozzie Smith and Nelly were outstanding. Bobby Knight, James Denton, were funny Lots of fun for sure.

One of our fellow DISrs sons was in the 'feature length' Taco Bell commercial which apparently played on Fox. :thumbsup2

No, Lilly was boo'ed, no doubt about it. I was at the red carpet parade earlier in the day with my boss, watching from the Stadium West parking garage. We could hear the rolling "BOOOOOO!"s coming from blocks away and were looking at each other like, "Geez, I wonder who's getting that kind of reaction?" Then we saw it was Lilly and it made sense. ;)

It's a Cards-Cubs thing, and it's gonna happen. I would fully expect the same thing to have occurred if the tables had been turned and the ASG was in Chicago.

It was really exciting to have had the game here, especially as I work basically catty-corner across the street from Busch. I got to watch the prep happening on a day-by-day basis for the last few months, especially in the last few weeks. It's kinda sad now that it's all over. I did take a ton of photos of the goings-on and can post them later on tonight when I get home, if anybody wants. :)

Holy cow, really? I totally remember that commercial. Was he one of the main 2 boys who was in it?

I think so - the mom is my friend on facebook but we met through the DIS (gotta love the Nanheads cruise group!!) and she is trying to get a copy of the commercial from youtube because her Tivo screwed up. He is thin, blond about 10 yo but I am not sure what his role was. Pretty cool though - his mom is super proud! He is also an amazing dancer....really headed for great things!

That's so awesome! Both of the boys in the commercial were great. I had that song stuck in my head for a couple of hours after it aired!

Please post your pictures! I would love to see them. I was thinking of you last night as I was watching the game. The stadium looked beautiful! I heard this morning that Citi Field may get the 2013 game. I hope so.

I'll post 'em as soon as I get home tonight! :) Busch really is a beautiful stadium; I hope everyone in MLB liked it enough that we won't have to wait another 43 years before the ASG comes back!

I hope you all end up getting to host the game soon, too! It really was a lot of fun. I didn't get to go to the actual game (prices were beyond ridiculous), but the atmosphere surrounding everything was really cool.

The booing wasn't clear on the TV broadcast but I was listening to JC in the morning (I know he is a jerk) and he doesn't care for Obama and remained silent but he said he was absolutely embarassed for our city.

George W. on the Jumbotron was met with homerun cheers.

thanks!

Yeah, it was fun last year when Yankee Stadium hosted it. I didn't get to go to any events--it was a busy time at work & I was about to go on jury duty so I couldn't take any time away from the office--but I did get to see the really great Statue of Liberty statues decorated for some of the teams. The Mets one was close to my office & I got a nice picture:

Oh, how cool! I got some photos of the Arches that were all around, too, both in front of the stadium and by the courthouse. I heard that they had sold for something like $15,000 apiece, and that most of them had sold by the week before the game. Personally, I'm just hoping to hit the team store later in the week to pick up marked-down ASG merch. :thumbsup2 I really dug the look of those National League jerseys!

All right, I just got home and got some of these uploaded, so here you all go. :)

the former site of the National Bowling Hall of Fame & Cards museum, which is now a Nike team store until (at least) the end of the season, apparently. That big black glass building on the the right side of the picture is where I toil away my days. :)
