I love this painless way to save for the trip. I get a few bucks whenever I am at the mall. I also use my child support checks. (they are so small that I really can't do much of anything else with them) rebate checks and of course my change jar.

Right now I am up to 115.00 with the goal being 300.00 before we leave.

Once my package is paid off I will then take money from the paycheck to buy them also.

We do too! It's amazing how fast $10 here, $20 there adds up. Everytime we go to the mall we try to buy some and stash them away.

yes, I've been doing it, also. My goal is to buy $50 per month, for our December trip.

I know some people talk about putting the money in the bank, but for me, this is above and beyond that. ALso, my bank is currently paying about 2.5% interest, so it's not like the interest would be piling up anyway.

Add us to the "Mall Plan". Me and the kids go once a month to our mall and pick up some Disney Dollars for our upcoming June trip. I think more than anything It's more a less a 'safety net' to keep all of us from spending more money on useless stuff that we don't need now. They take a chunk of their allowances, I take some of my tips, we come home they put their Disney Dollars in their banks and I break mine up into different allotments depending on where I need to make the investment. I set aside envelopes and they're marked "Disney Hotel" "Disney Meals" and "Toys" of course meaning goodies for you know who. It puts me in a state of mind financially where I'm at and where I need to be come June.

I've always thought they were a great idea!

Have a magical day,

Andy

We are heading for the Disney Store today. Taking our change to the bank, and then turn the money into Disney Dollars. Our kids will get, some for Valentine's day, and Easter, too. We usually have around $500.00 in dollars by the time we go.

I'm sorry to say that we are bad, and end up spending $$ on other things, if we have it lying around. Disney Dollars keeps our savings on track.

Plus the kids think Disney $$ is so cool. So do DH, and I

My dh bought them to give to our DD's for valentine's day. We do the same for Easter from the bunny of course. I have also asked family member in leiu of baskets to think about Disney Dollars. It seems to be okay with all of them.

I went to the mall this weekend just to buy Disney dollars for DS(8) today for Valentine's Day and they didn't have any, the CM said she didn't know when they would have any, boo hoo!!!

Has anyone ordered Disney Dollars before?

Where do you call?

How much do they charge for shipping?

Thanks!!

We are also on the "mall" plan, we have been saving since last summer and have 400.00. we save coins, cash in cans, etc. This is a painless way for us to save and not spend it before we go. Our disney store was out of dollars for a couple of weeks, but now have them again. Except they only have 5's, and 1's.

I've been getting Disney Dollars each paycheck lately.

However, has anyone else had this similar problem? At my local Disney store, they were just about out of DD last time I was there. (last week) The CM said they haven't gotten more in, and she heard they won't have more until March, when they release the newly-designed DD's in conjunction with the 50th celebration. So I guess I'll put my savings on hold for a few more weeks.

Yes, the CM at my Disney Store yesterday told me she wasn't sure IF OR WHEN they would get more Disney Dollars.

Count me in to the mall savings too! Though, our local mall here where I live doesnt have a disney store, so whenever I am in one that does, I plan on getting some for our trip in June for my daughter (4) and my son (8) my other two sons (15 & 13) think they are "too old" and prefer to save their own. But my two youngest are excited, and I figure that is the best way to save for it and not be tempted to spend it on something else!

I save my Disney Dollars for my souvenirs!!!

We do this too. My family even sends the girls DD for holidays/b-days now. I also have a special bank account set up with $ I make from ebay that I change into DD. I tend to spend cash as well so this system works for us. Now all they need is Busch Garden and Sea World dollars LOL!

I've been trying to get about $20 each paycheck till our August holiday. The last DS I went to only had $1 - the other store said they were running out. Neither one knew anything about when they'd be getting any re-stock though.

We're planning our first family trip to DisneyWorld in two years and the Disney Dollars sound like a great way to save! Are they accepted everywhere in DisneyWorld? (hotel, food, etc?) Any stipulations?
thanks! :)

Yes, they are accepted everywhere in WDW. I am giving each of my kids $100 in Disney Dollars for our trip in June for their spending money. I have three kids and $25 left to buy!

We just cashed in $150 in change that we had been saving the past few months for Disney Dollars. My store had quite a bit of 1's, 5's and 10's. I plan on picking some up here and there till our trip in May. We're giving it to the kids to use as their money for souveniers and whatever else they want to spend it on :earsboy: :earsgirl:

Love Disney Dollars. So far I have over $400 saved. I have them in envelopes and have Chef Mickey, Crystal Palace, and souviners for the kids paid for, with some left over.

The envelope method is a great incentive for me to save Disney Dollars and real money.
