My Wife and 2 children (DD 15 & DS 12) will be sailing on our second DCLcruise June 7th. Also made reservations at the Orlando Hyatt the night before.

Anyone else going ?

We've put our deposit down. Weird, DS15, DD13, and DH. It's our first and we're very excited. Staying at the Hyatt the night before also.

We will also be going on the june 7 cruise. DH and I wil be taking our first ever cruise!

Maybe we will have the ship all to ourselves.

When I view the links to other cruise dates I see 3 or 4 pages of posts. Our date can't even make 1 full page.

But then - think how easy it will be for upgrades. I'm shooting for Cat 1! Or maybe the whole Deck.

Has anyone checked if there are lots of rooms available through DCL reservations, or other online reservations services like Expedia?

Maybe the ship isn't full, as June 7th is early and many of the kids will not be out of school - tack on all those snow days and we just might have the ship to ourselves!

My family has decided to join us all on the ship. From what my tavel agent says, the ship is filling up so maybe nobody else knows about the site that is taveling with us. Oh well!!

I checked Travelocity.com last night (Expedia was down) and Travelocity still has several rooms available in most categories. I still think this date in June is bad for school aged kids, especially those in the snow belt this year. We'll see what gives when we reach 60 days prior to sail date.

Both Expedia and Travelocity show the following cabins still available:

Cat 12: 2515
Cat 11: 6633, 6611, 6539, 6537, 6323, 7539, 7535
Cat 10: 1079, 1049, 1047, 1045, 2603, 2153,2147
Cat 9: 1038, 1036, 2600, 2592, 2546, 2044, 2042
Cat 8: GTY
Cat 7: 5636, 5634, 5632, 5136, 5134, 5132, 6138
Cat 6: 5642, 5142, 6650, 6150, 6148, 6146, 6144
Cat 5: 7614, 7570, 7130, 7118, 7116, 7114, 7112
Cat 4: 8580, 8562, 8550, 8514, 8094, 8054, 8010

I have put my deposit down, and need to decide within a couple of days whether or not to go. But I'm getting a little apprehensive about this SARS stuff. Does anyone know if Disney is taking extra precautions concerning this virus? Is there another website I could access to find out about security and precautions taken? Appreciate any help. I really dont' want to cancel, but I need to feel comfortable about the trip, since it is very expensive.

What can Disney do? I would expect someone coughing and hacking should not be onboard, and would be easy to spot and quantantine.

From today's CNN:

"SARS -- characterized by high fever and breathing difficulties -- has infected more than 2,270 people worldwide, killing 79, according to the World Health Organization's Web site. It has spread to 16 countries, including the United States. No U.S. deaths have been reported. "

From the CDC website:

"A New Disease Called SARS

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is investigating a new disease called severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS). The disease was first reported among people in Guangdong Province (China), Hanoi (Vietnam), and Hong Kong. It has since spread to other countries. As of April 1, more than 70 cases of SARS had been reported in the United States. This fact sheet describes the disease and important guidelines for preventing the spread of SARS.

Symptoms of SARS

In general, SARS begins with a fever greater than 100.4°F [>38.0°C]. Other symptoms may include headache, an overall feeling of discomfort, and body aches. Some people also experience mild respiratory symptoms. After 2 to 7 days, SARS patients may develop a dry cough and have trouble breathing.

How SARS Spreads

Public health experts think that SARS is spread by close contact between people. SARS is most likely spread when someone sick with the disease coughs droplets into the air and someone else breathes them in. It is possible that SARS also can spread more broadly through the air or from touching objects that have become contaminated. To find out more about SARS, go to CDC's SARS Web site and the WHO's SARS Web site. The Web sites are updated daily.

Who is at risk for SARS

Cases of SARS continue to be reported mainly among people who have had direct close contact with an infected person, such as those sharing a household with a SARS patient and health care workers who did not use infection control procedures while taking care of a SARS patient. In the United States, there is no indication of community spread at this time. CDC continues to monitor this situation very closely."

We're going (DH also and DS ages 16 and 18). We re-scheduled from our March 15th original date. Can't wait!
