Esmerelda was the first character my older DD would let come up to her when she was younger. We used to love the Hunchback show. And was saddened when we went last November and it was gone. Luckily, I taped the show from start to finish. So we can watch it again. :guilty:

Very, very sad. I loved that show. One of the best Disney has ever done.

favortie part of MGM! Sad that a great show was sacraficed for some car show!

HoND was my VERY favorite show at Disney! I will always miss it. :(

I remember sending an e-mail to protest the closing. I actually got a reply. It was a great show and is dearly missed.

It's really messed up they got rid of it! Even though I was "older" then the target demographics for animated movies, that show was greatly enjoyed by my whole family. Since my dad is into broadway and goes fairly often, the show was even more liked by him.

Also the Pocohantas (sp?) show was great, what can you do though!

Here's to stopping great shows and using the theaters as storage! Go Disney!

I miss it, deeply. Made me cry everytime I saw it.

Very sad that it is gone. I loved the show and thought they did a very creative job of performing the different parts--but why would I expect any different--It's DISNEY!!!!! :Pinkbounc

Me, too! The vocal qualities were unmatched anywhere in WDW, IMHO. Wonderful show and a great pre-show, too!

Thanks for bringing it back in our memories.

It's my all time favorite thing at WDW and it's gone. I loved that show. While it was playing MGM was my favorite park. I'd schedule extra days there just so I could get my fix in.

But if course our opinions don't seem to count. Having a full house for most shows didn't count. Someone somewhere decided it wasn't worht keeping. :(

That was my all time favorite show. Sometimes i'd go to MGM JUST to see it - and maybe have lunch and then see it again! Now, some trips I don't even GO to MGM. I too wrote a letter, for all the good it did. I have collected a lanyard full of every Hunchback pin I can find, Esmerelda, Frollo, the goat. you name it. EVERYBODY, in fact, except CLOPIN, my favorite of all!

I'm another one who cried most every time I saw this show. I was lucky enough to see one of the last three performances of it ever, and it was truly emotional that it was closing. Later, when I went back to MGM, I noticed the theater was being used to store holiday decorations! What a bummer! The absence of it really does change the feel of the backlot area to me...

Another "Hunchback" fan here. I can't believe Disney would cancel Quasi, but still keep the beast. UGH!

Sorry guys, our family didn't like it. :guilty: That and the Mermaid show were our least favorites. Just didn't do "it" for us.

Hunchback is one of my alltime favorites for the music. And the singers that did the Hunchback show were top-notch. It would send chills up and down my spine.

 :( We loved that show and were so mad they closed it. It was broadway quality. I like beauty and the beast, and the lion king, but they don't compare to the broadway version. On the other hand you could put the Hunchback show right on the broadway stage as it was. The vocals were wonderful. We never really liked the music to much until the show and than I cried when I heard "Out There". The juggler at the preshow was great too. It's really sad that it's gone. I wish we had taped the whole show, we only have bits and pieces of it.

I was so sad they closed it.. I loved it! The colors, the story, the singing, the puppets! It was wonderful! I miss it so much.

I actually keep hoping that Disney will decide to bring Hunchback to Broadway someday soon. I love both the movie and the music and I think it would transfer really well to the stage. Saw both broadway versions of B&B and Lion King and I think Hunchback would be very similar to this type (big on spectacle). I've heard that they're currently working on Tarzan for Broadway...have to wait and see how that turns out! (Can you tell that I'm a theatre major  )
