Anyone remember this Christmas show?

I remember every Christmas watching "The House Without a Christmas Tree". Did anyone ever hear of this movie about a girl whose Dad didn't want a tree? ( or something like that). I think
Jason Robard was the Dad. It could have been on PBS, but I'm not sure. This would have been in the early 70's. Yikes, I'm old!!

Of Course I Remember it! It was on CBS though I think. And there were other holidays too. I remember one about Valentine's Day and I think there was one about Easter too. Jason Robards was the dad and wasn't Mildred Natwick the grandma?

I remember this one! My mom got me the book too. I'm surprised she hasn't passed that one on to my DD.

Great story. I remember it taught me how to "play the odds"!

The girl in the story had a chance to take home the class Christmas tree. The teacher had her and another student pick a number between 1 and 10. The other boy picked something like 2, and she "thought" about playing the odds, picked 3, and won (had 3-10 on her side, while the boy only had 1 & 2).

Yes! I have the movie...there is another one too with the same cast...Holiday Treasure...It's funny I remember loving that movie but since I bought it I just can't watch it...(I know I'm a goof! I know I will I just haven't been able to yet!)

I loved this movie growing up! I found it on VHS a few years ago and watch it every year again. My dh rolls his eyes every time I bring it out, but I don't care. What a great movie!

Wow - I can't believe it, I was just thinking about this book last week. I read it when I was younger and really loved it, but can't find a copy to buy since it's OOP.

I had no idea it was a movie. I was looking for it for my DD11 to read. I'll keep my eyes open to see if it will be rerun for the holidays.

It was one of my favourites growing up, I watched it every year. Now I have it on video, and I still watch it each year.
