I was wondering how many of you remember the Empress Lil. It's now Fulton's crab house. Do they still have 7 course dining upstairs?

I remember Empress Lilly! We went there for our "fancy" dinner on our honeymoon 12 years ago! We went to the Fulton Crab House in 1999 and it really wasn't as impressive as Empress Lilly's had been so we haven't went back.
But my husband still talks about our Empress Lilly Dinner every time we go to WDW!:)

yeah.... I only ate there one time in the late eighties when you went upstairs and jacket and tie were required. We had a 7 course meal and it was real fancy. I miss that.

My favorite lunch at the Empress Lilly was the Prime Rib sandwich. They took a big slab of chilled prime rib left over from the night before, warmed it up in au jus and put it on a piece of crusty french bread. Oh yes...I remember it well. :o

I will always remember it because I ordered the whole lobster and it came boiled and seasoned with Tarragon, which apparently is very different from the broiled lobster tail that I was familiar with. It was a beautiful place and the food excellant according to the rest of my party. It was my own lack of cuisine way back then and was my error... hmmm... That was the most expensive meal I ever wasted.

If I am not mistaken 20 yrs ago when we went donw the DW with our 2 yr old son we did a character breakfast ( it came plated) my son was scared of mickey, pluto, goofy...I have alot of pictures with him crying he was so scared :D

We ate there many years ago, I think it was in the early 90s and my 1st trip to WDW. I remember looking for it when we came back a few years later but it was already Fultons.

I also remember the character breakfast on the Empress Lily. Back in 1989 we went there because, at least according to the CM, it was the only character meal with Donald Duck at that time. We've got pictures of DS with Donald, and surprisingly, even though it was the first week of December, there's already CHristmas decorations (wreaths) on the walls.

Remember it well!! The Empress Room upstairs was quite elegant -we had two fine dinners there.
Also on board were Steermans Quarters and the Fishermans Deck--one a seafood spot and the other a steakhouse type restaurant .We also went into that lounge they had there- where they had live entertainment
So what did they do--closed down the Empress Lilly (named for Walts' wife) and turned it in to that awful Fultons.
Unforgiveable.
Should add tho that with the advent of V&A, the days of the Empress Room itself were probably numbered--.

I was there in 83 I believe, once for the lunch( prime rib sandwich was great) and once for Charater Breakfast. I wish it was still there.

We ate the best meal of our Grand Plan trip at the Empress Lilly in 1994. The presentation/plating of the entrees were so beautiful, I took photos.

Empress Lilly was my first character meal (breakfast). :)

One thing is for certain... It was one of the most memorable dinners I've ever had. I guess we'll have to try V&A's someday. I've never tried Fulton's, how is it as a restaurant?

My DH squeezed lemon into his water there once and a seed shot out of the lemon and attached to a beautiful hairdo at a neighboring table. It was embarassing!!!

Yup & I got the pictures to prove it! I remember that's where they used to have the character breakfast...I was around 8 at the time! LOL

I remember it well. We ate there 14 years ago on our honeymoon. I had the best artichoke soup. It took years to find some as good,I had to make it myself. We are going to WDW for our 14th anniv. this Oct and I was thinking about the Empress Lilly when I found this thread. I guess we will go to V&A.
