Anyone remember the afterschool specials?

I think this was an afterschool special. It was called "My Mom's Having A Baby". I remember watching this and my grandmother being so outdone that they were actually showing this on tv. Times have changed.

The only afterschool special I remember is "The Wave." Does anyone else remember that one? The plot was something along the lines of the teacher showing his class how easy it is to be be seduced into participating in a facist society. He formed a special club and gave students various levels of powers within it. At the end he revealed that he was using the same techniques as Hitler. Only two students refused to join and thought he was up to no good. I am sure I am forgetting a lot of the plot, it was a long time ago.

Not an afterschool special, but a great movie we watched in high school was "Stand and Deliver." YOU. MUST HAVE. THE DESIRE!! Very inspirational, and it actually made me pay attention in math class. Well, for a month or two, anyway.

I remember the teen alcoholic one, it was a teen girl, right? I just remember that she put booze in her soda cans so she could drink in front of others and no one would know. I though, "Hey, that's pretty clever!", LOL

Wasn't there one called "Its Tough to be a Teenage Millionaire" about a teen who wins a million bucks, and her life changes for the worse because of it?

Was there one about a teen joining a cult? Or maybe I am thinking of a tv movie.

I LOVED after school specials!!! I can remember watching one where this teenage boy and girl had sex and then the boy found out he had Gonorrhea. He went to her house and stood outside her second story bedroom window yelling up to her "I have Gonorrhea!!!" :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

So funny. My son just saw this in school this week. He was talking about how the teacher was so clever, and the kids didn't even see what he was up to.

if this is the one i remember it was actualy based on a real life event-the teacher was shocked to find that the students were so easily swayed by the techniques he employed.

i have to agree-stand and deliver was an awsome movie-i've watched it several times and am always impressed by it!
