I agree..I wonder if there is a place to watch those old disney world video's..

Does anyone remember DTV back when the Disney Channel FIRST started. I was in high school and I still loved it!

I loved DTV and Mousercize. I agree DC is not what it used to be.

Yes! I loved both of those. I used to get up at 5:00 a.m. just so I could Mousercise! I also really miss Vault Disney from 1999 when they played The Mickey Mouse Club (the original), Zorro, The Ink & Paint Club, The Wonderful World of Color. . .ahhh I miss those! I also miss Avonlea - that was such a great family program. Donald Duck Presents was a favorite of mine too. I no longer recognize or watch The Disney Channel as it is today.

They also ruined Toon Disney (in my opinion) by taking away the classic Disney cartoons and putting in that Jetix crap (sorry Jetix lovers, no offense). Oh well. . .at least DVD sets of many of the Disney Afternoon shows are available (Darkwing Duck, Goof Troop, Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers, DuckTales, TaleSpin, Quack Pack, etc.)!

I am sad that it has to be all about what makes money, but in the end, Disney is a business and whatever sells the most is what they'll continue put out there, even if it is crap (to me). :sad2:

I think Disney Channel does a pretty good job of trying to appeal to both preschool kids and preteen kids.

I do miss the older Disney cartoons, maybe they should do something like the Boomerang channel (that shows only older cartoons) my kids and I love watching Tom and Jerry, etc.

Also though I know many parents don't like Suite Life, Hannah Montana, etc. I am really glad that my 9 year old still likes to watch that. I think those shows are still innocent enough while being "hip". I really don't want her watching Teen Nick.

I understand being a parent of a young child and not liking the "older" programming on the Disney Channel, but trust me, when your child is a preteen you will be grateful that they still watch Disney!

Ya in a few years but really having those shows on so early in the day when younger kids could be watching 16 year olds dress in skin tight shirts, cleavage sticking out isn't my idea of wholesome family TV!

I agree. I think that kids that watch the Disney channel now don't even know who the original characters are. Aside from the one Mickey Mouse show they have, its all Hannah Montana, Suite Life, etc. Where is Donald, Goofy, Minnie? Know what I mean?

My girls are 11 & 13 now and still talk about watching the old Winnie the Pooh and Little Mermaid shows. I used to enjoy when they'd show the old MMC shows (B&W) with Spin & MArty and Annette. I remember when they created the new MMC in the 70s with Lisa Whelchel. Now, I get annoyed when Suite Life and HM come on,also, what were they thinking with SuiteLife when they got rid of the Mom and Maddie? School on a cruise shop, right, that's a great idea!

I miss the old Disney Channel too. Does anyone remember the Disney Halloween special? I think it first aired in the early-mid 80's. My sisters and I loved it!!! In fact, we just found the old VHS recording of it and we're in the process of getting it put on DVD.

From the perspective of my personal taste I don't watch TDC. From the perspective of being a Disney shareholder, Hannah Montana has been a goldmine. In fact Disney's marketing to tweens has become a juggernaut for the company. :earsboy:

So true :thumbsup2

BUT, my kids and I were discussing a few weeks ago how we miss the quality of the shows that were on when they were younger likeThe Jersey, So Weird, and The Famous Jett Jackson. I could actually sit and watch those shows. I consider Suite Life marathons a form of torture:crazy2: I actually coax my youngest to go play video games after a couple of episodes.

also miss the older Disney Channel shows

especially "Inside Out" (backstage WDW), "Spot" the dog cartoon (at lunchtime each day for then 5 y/o DS!) and the Disney Vault segment late at night, including the Mickey Mouse club

Yes that is the show! "Inside Out" (backstage WDW)....loved that...you would think FREE ADVERTISING would bring this show back!

I totally agree!!!! I loved the Disney Channel when I was younger!!

It played Disney movies, Walt Disney clips, The Mickey Mouse Club, Mickey short cartoons, Adventure of Winnie the Pooh.....

Anyone remember Kids Incorporated???
Or Mousercise?
Or this show called Wish Upon a Star??

I don't understand why they never showcase WDW or DLR on the Disney Channel-wouldn't you think they would capitalize on the free advertising??:confused3 I don't even think they show WDW commercials or holiday parades:guilty:

Oh ya, I miss the "old" Disney Channel! They should just make another channel and call it Disney Channel Classic, I would watch it 24/7 :lmao:

I remember!! And I remember when it was an "extra" channel that you had to pay for. I would get so excited when they would run a free weekend!

Of course, I also remember when MTV actually showed music videos! And VH1 too!

OMG I would watch it 24/7 too!!!! Even if they just ran a classic hour on the current channel, I would be ok with that.

I remember when it was a pay channel too! My mom ordered it for us though because she knew we would love it!:goodvibes

I miss Aladdin the t.v. show, TaleSpin, DarkWing Duck, ZOOG Disney, & most of all: VAULT Disney! Omg, Vault Disney was the greatest spot to see movies! They don't do anything like this now-a-days. What comes on late at night is just the same junk from earlier! Don't get me wrong, I like Hannah Montana, but I don't need to see it over & over & OVER! I reeeeally miss The Little Mermaid, the t.v. show! But, it comes on at 4am. Always a fun time to watch that. :rotfl2: NOT! I definitely miss "The Torkelsons," too! And "Almost Home." And "Ready or Not.."

I miss it so bad. I would love for the MMC new version to be on DVD. I just miss all the old shows, it used to be so good. Disney was how I found out about NSYNC. :rotfl: I remember the days of Zoog Disney and the older Disney shows. I hate the new Disney station:crazy2:

You know who was on Kids, Inc. don't you? Stacy Ferguson, aka Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas, aka Mrs. Josh Duhamel!
