Anyone recently stay at AS-Sports?

I just feel that with all of the cut backs, Disney standards are slipping. They should not be giving towels that are frayed nor ones with holes in it. They should not be having dead grass even if they are resoding (12 days of looking at it was not my idea of "pretty"), they should at least be pressure washing 2 times a week during love bug season if not every night!. They did it once in my entire stay. It was on my 9th day. They were doing it during the day. Had I not seen them getting ready to do it, I would have opened my door to them doing it & been hit by the water :confused3 They did it at 10am

Umm Hello this is Florida and we are having a drought! Come on, you are from Florida. I live in south Florida and we can only water our lawns here 1 day a week. Florida had one of the driest winter in record. Maybe at Disney the drought is not as bad as here but Disney conserving water is not a bad thing. To let you in on something Lovebugs happen between May and Sept every year. We even got them this far down south which is unusual. I'd rather see a maid with a scrub brush and pail of water than have the doors pressured cleaned. Then the paint would really look bad.:scared1:

Not trying to flame you. You just wanted a great and relaxing vacation. I agree that service at Disney is falling short. That bedspreads and towels need to be disposed of when thread bare. Email Disney to complain is a great thing to do and hopefully they will respond. I hope all your future Disney vacations are better from here. :flower3:

I'm just back from Sports and I'd LOVE to stay there again!! I loved being the first drop off if we were on a shared bus which rarely happened! Our room was in touchdown 106... at first they had us in tennis (sorry dont know the proper name) and went to check in but the room wasn't ready yet at 3pm.. the nice guy at the desk got us swiched which was AWESOME since we had all been up since 2am... ICK ICK ICK I will NEVER have that early of a flight again (7am!) The room was fine.. no real noise we DID have one problem.. housekeeping.. they "missed" our room 2 days in a row... by the time we came back.. I wasn't about to have them call make the beds just so we could sleep in them again... I wish they would have at least emptyed our trash... Umm no fun with diapers in the same room... but we lived thru it.. DH was happy he "saved" 10$ by not having to tip them.. I'd go back in a heartbeat!

I went back and read most of your messages... sounds like you were looking for stuff... on vacation I dont pay attention to sod, dead grass, dirt on walkways, dirty buses. I have enough dirt to clean at home... this was my one week not to worry about that stuff... if it was there I paid no attention to it! The only thing I'll complain about here is the ferry gate with the bolt sticking out if it I ran into on the way to Cape May Cafe for dinner... left a nice bruise!

Next time Look up.. Blue Sky, White clouds... I miss it... (we've been having a ton of rain in PA the last 3 days!)

I got this quote from my weather mans site (I know werid huh?) this morning and thought it was perfect!!

We get so caught up in our small daily duties and irritations that they become the only things that we can focus on. What we forget is that beauty and wonder is all around us, every day, if only we would take the time to look up and see them.

I live in SW Fl.. across from you. My well has run dry (we are still on well water here), we water once a week and we do not have hay like around that pool. No hard feelings I know you are not flaming me, but have you looked at my pic's at the start of this thread. I just do not think that having holes in towels, bedspreads & drapes should be something taken lightly. I have a pool at home. If I want to relax and lay by the pool, I can do that at home. I should not have to look at dead grass at a resort that I am paying to stay at.
You do not need to tell me about the love bugs, I know it is season. :rotfl: I had to stop 2 times on my trip up to clean my windshield just so I could see out. When I said pressure washed, yes, they did pressure wash it once while I was there. It should have been cleaned more than that since it was love bug season, not only by pressure washing.. it could have been swept. They didn't even do that!
I don't like relaxing on a torn bedspread & drying myself with ripped towels. I do not do that at home and surely do not like doing it when I am paying close to $1000 (yes, I know it is cheap for Disney) for my 12 night stay :sad2:
I just hope that Disney see's by the email (and I hope others that were unhappy email too) that they are leaving some of their magic out with cut backs.

I have 2 trips booked already, one for Sept & one for Oct. They are both at Pop. I hope they are better too!

I was at the Sports 5/31 to 6/06. We were in bldg 7 room 7143. I thought the room was just fine. The curtains even looked brand new. I did hear other toilets and on 2 occasions a horrid rattle through the wall that I'm sure was from the pipes but it didn't last long. My friend came in on 6/02 and we had a connecting room. She did have a smell in the room that was almost sewer like. But I called the front desk right away and they came and spayed something that cleared up the smell while we were at the pool. Then next day while we were at the parks they ran and ozone machine in the room and there was no additional problem.

My only problems with house keeping were every day they did not empty my ice bucket and leave a new bag. No biggie since I had a small cooler with me. The other problem was I lost my remote and had to call 3 times for a new one through out the day. Luckily I was in and out the room so I wasn't waiting on them.

I never really noticed dirty walk ways. I did see on a couple of nights them pressure washing the walk ways and the food court floor. The food court was ok. If I ended up there at a really busy time I did notice the area with the drink machines a little messy. And one night that it rained, at 9pm, the food court was a zoo. They were really not prepared for the crowd. It took for ever to get the food.

One other thing...did food prices jump or are the prices at the All Stars food court higher than other places. I sure seemed high this trip.

But over all I must say my stay was pleasant. I did miss the extras of a deluxe but it worked out fine for me and my son.

Sorry you had such a bad experience. We returned June 5th from our stay @ ASMu. We were in a Family Suite. I have nothing but good to say. The room was clean, nothing in need of repair. However, we too could hear other guest in other rooms taking showers. But that did not seem to bother any of us. Hopefully they will get the improvements made to all of the All Star's. IMO I would rather stay at a value resort & have more $$ for the parks ;)

I like your weather man's saying.. it is a true one ;) In a way, I wish we were having some of the rain you guys were. We are in one of the worst droughts we have had in a long time here in FL. I know down here by me, we were having some pretty bad brush fires. At one point, the smoke was so bad, they were telling us not to go out:scared1:

As far as the resort, from the posts here, it seems the Football sections must have been cleaned & spruced up or something. They were by far different than the Baseball. I was not out looking for anything. I see you said you went back and read through my posts, but did you "look" at my pictures? Would you still be happy if you had a torn bedspread that you told them about and they never changed out? ....or... Would you still be happy if after you told them about the bedspread, you get towels with holes in them? The entire stay the towels were frayed, then the one day the one was actually torn  That isn't looking for things.. that is things seeking me out :lmao: like my fingers coming out of the towels.. or my toes out of the bedspread :lmao: On the more serious side, when paying what you are paying at Disney, why should one have to accept this :confused3 and yes, down to the dirty walkways & doors. If I am on vacation, I want to get away from the dirt that I may or may not have at home, that is what I am paying for. The way you say you have enough dirt at home to clean, you are looking to get away from it, that is it in a nut shell.. you are looking to get away from it, someone else is doing the cleaning! You are paying for it. When you are paying and it isn't getting done, you are in a sense dealing with it, you stayed in a room with stinky diapers... yuk... :lmao: I think I would have tied them up in a plastic bag & found the maids cart & dumped them in there. I can live without my bed made, I can't live with the smell of diapers..
I am not a nit picker.. but if I am paying for something, I want what I paid for. After all, Disney wants their money from me, I want their service my money is suppose to be getting... that is the name of the game.. it is a business.. I would not want to go to the store for and pay for a dozen of eggs and only get 8. I paid for 12 and would want 12. It is the same thing.. I made a purchase.. and it was to include usable towels etc and it did not, so I made a formal complaint with them, just as I would if I only had 8 eggs in the carton that said 1 dozen.. ;)

I was at All Star Sports May 5th-13th in the Surfs Up Building. Having never stayed at an All Stars I was pleasantly surprised. I walked in and saw a King size bed. Thinking I was in a handicapped room, my first thought was 'Oh no, I refuse to have only a shower all week'. However, I found I had a very large bathroom (with a regular bathtub) that just had alot of rails in it. The king size mattress was very comfortable and the room spotless. Before I left there was a thread about bed bugs here on the Dis, so as soon as I arrived I pulled the sheets back to look at the mattress and it looked like it may have been a new one. I received a towel animal only one day, but housekeeping was fine all week. I think I may have had the same housekeeper all week, because I left a note the first day to please leave the light on over the sink and she did so for the entire week. It was nice not having to come back to a dark room at night. It was on the first floor, so other than hearing people talk as they walked by in the mornings I didn't hear a sound all week. I was four doors past the elevaters on the back side facing the tennis buildings with a courtyard type view. I loved that room with the huge bathroom and king size bed.

For my Sept/Oct trip I've booked a preferred room at AS Music, but I'm going back in Dec and can't decide between POP and AS Sports again.

I agree totally on the money end...:thumbsup2 The Music is actually a very pretty resort down by the fountians. Sometimes you can forget you are at a valule. Pop has some nice places to sit in as well...The Movies and the Sports, you always know you are in a value.
The one thing with all of the All Stars, they have the turbo toilets...

not once did they ever leave me a bag for my ice... I had my cooler and bought new cups so it really didn't matter, but I had noticed that.. funny you mentioned that one. I have to admit, I did see them cleaning over towards the food court bldgs.. but not in the Homerun section. I can't explain why they they didn't do down by us :confused3 We honestly & truly were dirty down there.. one night some guest must have thrown their pizza boxes out by the elevators and the next morning they were (2 of them) still there & opened up :scared1: Now that is not the staff...that is the guest... I also know that there was a bus that was part of a "tour" that was there and they were staying in that section of the resort.. their kids were running all over the hallways.. but that didn't bother me, I can remember when my son and his baseball team were there... maybe that was why they didn't clean much down that way. There also was a baseball team there because there were a lot of baseball bags out by the doors a few days... again, that may be a reason for them not cleaning.. thinking the cleats would only drag in more dirt? :confused3 who knows... all I know is it was dirty & that made me rather unhappy. I felt as if I was at a motel 6 or something... but paying a bit more....

as far as the food prices.. I did notice that the Brownie Sunday was $1 more at the food court than it was in the MK... that was weird... go figure that one.. I would have thought that the food court would have been cheaper. You might be right. I did think the prices were a bit higher. I have the DDE card so I get my 20% off and was happy. I have to really take notice next time...
My next trip is at Pop, I will have to drive over to AS just to compare the food court price's. Besides, my DD likes the Casadias(can't spell it :rotfl: ) there.. and Pop doesn't have them..

Well ya'll got some rain when I came to "sunny florida".. between the thunderstorms the night we came home :scared1: that dealyed our plane by almost an hour (fun fun fun!) and Barry... maybe I need to come back bring the rain with me? It seems to be following me! :confused3 :rotfl:

as for your pics Yes some of them I totally understand.. but in all honesty.. dirty on walkways, sod, them running in new cable lines while we were there, dirty buses (I dont even know if ours were dirty?) didn't bother me at all.. Noise.. well yeah.. we are at disney its to be expected.. again with 3 kids I'm use to it and I can pretty much tune that right out :rolleyes1 Hope you have a better time when you go next!

Thanks.. three kids I can tune out easy :lmao: I have done that for years. the humming of the pipes really started to drive me nuts though. It was ok for a while but when you are just starting to fall asleep, I would leave the TV with the hopes it would cover the sound, the ahummmmmm would grow louder over the TV. We are taking air in the pipes when ever someone in the other room turned on the water... like 1am 2 am  :scared1: :headache: The dirt would not have been too bad if it was just plain old dirt I guess. Dead love bugs smell. They were stuck on the walk way. Maybe because we were on the 3rd floor and no one walks up that way, I have no idea why my area was that bad. I have thought of every reason possible to find an excuse for Disney... (not to blame them). This trip was just not the trip that was meant to be I guess. It was a 12 night one that didn't start out right. Like Murphy's law I guess. What can go wrong will go wrong & did go wrong.

Yes, we are getting some rains.. did you bring it.. thank you :goodvibes
I did have I think 2 or 3 nights of rain up there, which is really not that much. Since I have been home, we still haven't had much. Last night we had a good down pour.. thank you for that one, my pool needed it :lmao: I refuse to fill my pool when it starts to evaporate from the sun. I wait until I absolutly have to (when it can't go thru the skimmer). It poured so hard last night, we must have gotten an inch in less than 30 minutes! Trouble was.. it kept comming :rotfl2: :rotfl: The road in front of my house flooded, it came into my lanai  I looked at my husband and said... there baaaaack :cool1: Every summer that happens to us. Our streets flood & so does our lanai
My next trip that I have booked it for Pop in Sept. I want to go up before school starts on 8/20 but have nothing booked. May go with AdventureKat from here... if we can get a room..and not at the Sports ;) unless it is a refurb one :goodvibes

No one was looking for stuff - Disney needs to step up and start taking care of their in house business. There has been a lot of outsourcing and getting rid of their employees, contracts are in the wind, etc.

However, when I check into a hotel - I don't expect to receive torn sheets, bedspreads and towels in that condition. I don't care how low budget it is and I don't think you would too. Looking up at the clouds, sunny skies is not going to make the mess of your room go away - you have to use those towels and sleep in that bed.

I am pretty sure AMickeyfan got a reply back from Disney Corporate as I am sure her agent (me) got.

OH MY GOSH !!!!!

Thank you so much for cc'ing me on this! Please know that we will stay with this from the sales side.

I am so sorry that your client had such an experience but I am so happy that they documented it so comprehensively!

We'll be in touch with you as we partner with our colleagues in Florida.

So, I guess they will look into it as they saw that she was not lying. Just so that you know - they have added a quality inspector to check around the hotels. At the present time they were at Pop Century and will make their way to the other hotels in the near future.

we have only stayed at music , and music suite and movies. we must of been lucky. we only had a couple of problems with the door and the safe. we have gone at least 10 times. i know the busses can be a headache, esp. in august, but i would rather be there then home ........haha. as far as walking from say movies to sports, i cant imagine it taking more than 5 or 8 min. or so. actually if you go from the pool side at music its only a couple of min. sto sports. it really is not bad at all. i think if i had a room with many problems we would try to ask to be moved. i cant wait to go back....hoping for sept.

They tried to move me out of the resort, I was staying for 12 nights. That was already the second room I was in, first room I didn't even unpack!
