Anyone read the Maximum Ride series?

I discovered these books when I was visiting the inlaws. My sil told me that these would be great books for Josh, so I checked out the Angel experiment. I picked up that book and didn't put it down until I was finished. And Josh read it faster than I did. We both had to go get the second book. I don't know what it is about this story, but we're hooked.
