Anyone postponing a September trip???

We are scheduled to fly out next Sat AM. If the plane goes, we are on it. I don't want to cancel. I feel guilty being so selfish about my trip knowing people may lose their homes, but the thought of dissapointing my 4 YO DD who has been looking forward to this trip for so long will kill me. She doesn't understand the impact of a major hurricane.

My prayers go out to all Floridians.

We are leaving the 18 on jet blue outrta logan and as long as the planes is going then so am I

Pixie dust to all NO MORE STORMS

I'm leaving on the 25th, and hope to make it. My son lives in Orlando, so I'll get first hand news of what's going on. I know he's worried about Frances coming, and I pray he'll be safe.

From what DH and I just saw on The Weather Channel, it looks like it may be downgraded to a Category 2 - right now, the winds are 110 mph but were 145 just yesterday so things are looking up. . .
cassie -
prayers to your and your family - our thoughts go to your son and we pray that he remains safe!!

We are leaving on the 25th as well. No plans to cancel anything here.......we've waited over a year for this trip, and sacrificed alot to pay off the package etc.

That said, if another hurricane comes and is an imminent threat to our safety, we'd make that decision then.

But, alas, I HAVE FAITH !!!!!!!!!

We are leaving on the 24th. I'm hoping that with the new reports I've been hearing that it is not going to be as bad as they first predicted.

Tooboyz4us - see you at the lodge! (we'll be there too):wave2:

guess i'm going to be there first lol, i'll be arriving the 6th *hopefully* we are driving down and were going to stop at a friends house in georgia sunday night to see what was going on monday, but it looks like we should be ok to arrive monday *keeping my fingers crossed*

hope all in florida stay safe and that frances dies down some more

September 25th for us to VWL. Hopefully the rest of September and October will slow down on these awful storms (no more, please, Florida has had their limit!)

As long as we can get there, we plan on being there in three weeks.:teeth:

We're flying down on the 26th, and I'm really hoping all the hurricanes are over by then! If not, they can wait until after I leave! I've been planning this vacation for TOO long....

Seriously though, vacation or not, the FL residents have had more than their share of this weather this summer, I hope it settles down for their sake more than my vacation.

Steph

 God and tropical weather willing, it's almost time for this trip! With home in the Big Easy, we need to get lucky in TWO states with these storms. Might never try this again during the peak weeks of hurricane season...I am a big baby and pout if WDW gets canceled!

I know that there will be lots of damage from the flooding at least and so payers ot our Florida neighbors!

Knowing that we are going to Disney on the 13th is a bright spot in our days. I live in Broward County (between Palm Beach and Dade aka Miami). Just hoping nothing major happens to anyone. Can't wait for this storm to be over (kind of tired of seeing about hurricane Frances)

Bye Bye Frances,
Mickey here I come,
Shirley

We leave on the 25th, airfare is nonrefundable so I am hopeing we will be storm free then!

We are still going on the 8th. My husband is being quite negative about all this huricane stuff but we are going at this point. There is not a reason why not to as Frances is going to be gone by then... I am not worried about us.

I am however worried about those who live there. They are getting it pretty hard and definately do not need or deserve Ivan coming up as well. Hopefully, he will just go away (not only for our sake, but for Floridians)!!!

Looks like Florida is going to have to make it through another one next week....

Latest computer models show that Tropical Storm Ivan is headed in the same path that Francis did. All Models suggest that Ivan will be upgraded to a hurricane by Sunday evening (Sept. 5th), and could hit the Florida Cost between Miami and Daytona Beach on Saturday September 11th.

Keeping our finger crossed that Ivan goes away...

Pray,Pray,Pray!!!!

This is Ivan

I can't even fathom another hurricane hitting Florida! Let's hope that it turns away and fizzles out! Geeze!

Well, Ivan is now a hurricane too. We are hoping he won't terrorize Florida the way Frances and Charley have. We are heading down on the 19th and sure hope we can get there and have a great time. IF by some horrible chance, there are still hurricanes hitting the sunshine state we will consider changing our plans, but we sure hope this isn't the case.

Thoughts and prayers for all of you Florida residents.
