Anyone planning next year's trip before completing this year's?

we just got back 2 weeks ago and already have our next two trips planned. October we are trading for Hawaii and January staying at the treehouses.

Ahhhhh...definitely count me in!!!

April is booked, and so is July 2009. Not sure what 2010 looks like yet, though NOT by my choice. We vacation with my parents a good bit (though they do not have MY appreciation of Disney ). The best they can do is about 6 - 8 months out, and not because of scheduling. They just aren't planners! But, I will travel with them as long as they want to an can.

The other thing that killed me this year was the changes to the dining reservation system. WHAT??? You're telling me I have to wait until the 90 day window to book dining reservations?

My calendar is full of DVC planning moments (e.g., when to call to make a trip reservations, banking deadlines, when to call for dining reservations, when to place my Garden Grocer order, when to book a rental car - if needed, etc.). I guess I could say it is a guilty pleasure!

First I am a planner too and am brand new to owning DVC, it is a great way to pass the time working overnights. As for booking Bay Lake, owners there can begin on March 1st, then it's open to everyone else on March 15th.

My question is this- we (my parents, DH and DD) are definitely going this Dec, my brother/his wife and his DD may be joining us should I try and book a larger villa just to get the reservation and keep my fingers crossed that they come with us or should I only book the room size I know we need for just my immediate group that has confirmed going? Thanks for your help!

We booked our December 08 trip on the same day we booked our upcoming Aug. 09 trip!

With the new points charts, I planned our 2011-2012 trip to make sure that we had a plan that would probably work after I made the rest of our 2009-2010 trip reservations over the next two days.

Depends on whether you'd need to borrow points for a large group and when your use year is. Once you borrow points, you need to use them before the end of the year you borrowed them into, if that makes sense. Our use year is February, so we have to be careful when we borrow points in December, since we don't have much time to use them if people back out on us.

I forget what happens if you have to bank points--we never have any left to bank lol.

Right now I am sitting in the Jet Blue terminal at JFK Airport waiting to board my flight to Long Beach, CA. I am using some of the incentive points to stay at the Grand Californian for 5 nights. In about 6 hours we will be checking in.

I am visiting SSR in August, with my incentive points I received for purchasing BLT in December.

I will visit BLT in November. I'm very excited to stay there. We purchased 300 points.

We had next year's vacation planned last year We are taking our three trips this year, and we are planning on taking a "break" and only going one time next year for the summer. Things we still want to do with our DVC:

1. Try out Vero or HH one summer.
2. Book a Disney Cruise (if my motion sickness doesn't stop me )
3. Go check out Disney Land CA.
4. Visit every DVC resort on Disney World Property.

And much, much more!!!

I have planned both trips in 2010 and 1st trip of 2011. I am currently working on 2nd trip of 2011.

And I haven't gone to my first trip of this year yet. Planning is part of the fun...sometimes stressful...but fun!

I always seem to be planning a Disney trip - I call it my relaxation time!!! We are going in April 09 and already have Nov 09 planned as well - since we borrowed most of our 2010 points to treat family and friends - we are now looking at where to add on!!! We originally thought BLT but after our Oct 08 visit to VWL DH has decided that should be our second home!!! Resaling we go!!!

Yep already have august 2009 planed though I will have to adjust it so I have enough points for Feb 2010 that I have planned. Now I just have to decide to cancel the weekend in August and pay cash or the weekend in Feb and pay cash. Leaning toward august with the hopes for free DP.

I am always in planning mode. Sadly our June trip will be our last trip for 2009 (at least it is 2 weeks ) I am working on next June's trip as well as trying to talk DH into a December 2010 trip! I get the fun of planning a trip for my sister's & their families as well as we are treating them to 5 nights in a 2-br at AKV.

how about the next three...my Feb '09 which is days away...July '09 with airfare already booked...and Thanksgiving which will be our first and as soon as March 14 comes im booking my next President's Day vacation as long as this one goes well...

Oh Yes! We have HHI June '09, getting ready to make Christmas '09 in WDW, then HHI June '10 will be up followed by Thanksgiving week in WDW in '10.

Thank you! And how can we be expected to plan our ADRs if we do not have the Extra Magic Hours? That is driving me nuts, but I digress...

We are new to DVC and have never been to a DVC property and yet we have a June 2009 trip booked ( Developer points, we are taking my BIL, SIL, and 2 Nephews with us), we are working on April 2010 (our family only), October 2010 (hope to take friends), and we hope to go to HI for our 20th Anniversary in 2011(just me and DH).
