Anyone planning for February 2008?

I've never been at this time before, but one of my BFFs is a manger at the studios down there and says it's going to be pretty busy (peak season). We don't care, we are just dying to get there! haha!

Our trip begins on 2/24/08! I cannot wait. This is our first time staying on site, Pop. Last year we were at the parks around the 7th or so of Feb. It was actually pleasant. Crowds weren't too bad. I have heard that the week AFTER Presidents day is a little slower. I hope that holds true! I won't care anyway. I am going home!!!!!!:woohoo: :yay:  :cool1:

long weekend trip to the world for us. no kids this time, should be fun. staying at the csr, can't wait to get out of this weather for a few days

Michelle ( I am guessing that is your name by sn?), thanks for advice on clothes to pack, that one was stumping me, and I always wayyyyyy overpack. This will be our first real vaca with almost 3 year old so I am a little lost.

I see several posts about escaping the weather, I hear you their! OUr mail lady has started to refuse to deliver our mail cause their is often ice and snow on the road :confused3 It is february in NH, what does she expect!!!! 8 days and counting, (7 till we head to boston for overnight before our flight, yipee!) :cool1:

We went last year at this time, and while it certainly wasn't as crowded as Memorial Day weekend & week, it wasn't particularly light either. The last week of February is New Hampshire school vacation week. Massachusett's is this coming week. (By and large, I believe.) We've tended to run with the rule that each person gets to pick one ride/show where the line is longer than 30 minutes as their "I really, really want to do this" event. Otherwise, we'll try to fast pass it, go during a parade, get there early or late but only one long line per person.

As far as the weather goes, I've been obsessively checking www.accuweather.com and www.weather.com for forecasts. It looks like the last week will be warm and then cool-ish but still way warmer than New Hampshire. I always make everyone bring their winter coats anyways because if we have dig out our car, they'll need them then.

And as far as the snow goes, our neighborhood has nearly become an exclusive community - it's a deadend Y shaped road on a hill so there's not a lot of traffic and the road is just getting bumpier and bumpier. Pretty soon you'll either have to have a four wheel vehicle or just not get in. Our driveway is particularly bad. I've been using 4wd since Wednesday.

haha, yes i'm Michelle :) We have a just turned 3 year old with us :) She's sooo excited, this will be her 4th trip and she keeps talking about all the rides she wants to go on! She remembers so much from our May trip it's amazing!

WOW! Can't believe that about your mail!! That's nuts!!

NHWX- where in NH are you? We are in Hooksett. I can't wait to leave this mess behind!! I am not a cold weather person!

Michelle- That is neat that your daughter is so excited. I talk it up a lot to DS and I think he is pretty excited. We picked up a pirate sword and hook at the dollar store, and some glo bracelets, which he enjoyed. I think I am still more excited though! 8 days, woohoo!!

We're in the small hills in the Monadnocks area. When the forecasters paint a heavier swath on the snowfall maps, generally we're in it unless the storm is goes north. I'm not looking forward to Sunday's storm.

I took out duffle bags today. I'm trying to figure out if we can do just carry-ons. I think it's going to be too chilly to go without jeans for the evenings and that makes everything a bit more bulky.

Must remember quart sized ziploc bags!

I hear you on the packing woes. This sunday, as in tommorow storm? It better not be next sunday, we fly out of boston sunday morning, I will be one VERY unhappy girl if our plans get messed up because of snow!!

I was talking about tomorrow night's (Sunday, 2/17) freezing rain and sleet turning to rain storm. Last I read, rainfall was supposed to be about an inch.

It's supposed to be sunny on Thursday!! Yeah! (sarcasm off)

We're from NH, too - we also are going during school vacation week. We are staying off site at Windsor Hills - namely b/c I'm almost 6 mo's pregnant and won't be able to share a room AND a bed with my family of 4! Too crowded - I need my space! :rotfl:

We are leaving from Boston on Friday. The weather looks really good for travel - we're flying into Tampa this time - mostly b/c it was the best rates and times for us. Renting a car for the week and that will be a new experience for us....paying for parking 7 days - yuck!

I've been watching the weather for next week too and it looks really great! I should be packing and preparing but we have been so sick in our house. I just got back from the dr's for my 3 year old - she has had a fever for 4 days; the doc says it's an ear infection....sigh...so hopefully we'll all be better by Friday!

I just don't think I can waith any longer!!!:rotfl2: I hear you about sick kids, mine has had a cough, just a cough, for 5 weeks, 2 doctors trips and they still keep telling me its just a cold. I am hoping the humid aie in FL will help, but I am a little nervous about flying. I think we are going to be sticking clost to home this week to avoid germies. Flu cases are widespread in NH right now, and I have no desire to pick that up before we leave! We may even skip the gym to stay out of the playroom, who really cares what I look like in a bathing suit anyway, lol :rotfl: Is anyone planning on the pirates and princess party on the 26th? It looks like rain that day, but I think we will go anyway, DS is excited about it!

We considered the P & P party, but being 6 months pregnant, I can hardly stay up until 9pm, never mind any later! And w/the 3 year old just getting over her sickness, I'm thinking I won't push it....plus the extra cost....:confused3

I have my bag packed - going to work on my 12 year olds today with him now that he has no school today - that will be half the bags to deal with!

I'm finalizing my plans for next week - does anyone know how exciting ESPN wknd is? My 12 year old is really into sports and would probably get a kick out of it - expecially that Roger Clemens is supposed to be there - but I'm thinking the crowds.....dunno....

4 days for us too! I can't wait to be warm again!:thumbsup2

Boy, lots of us from NH going down, I suppose because it is school vaca week up here.
Michelle- I think I am going to get dh and I bandanas to be semi pirates. We are not really dress up people, but I would like to do something. I was thinking of maybe getting a couple pirate tshirs from the disney store too. I think its great you guys are dressing up, I love it when adults get to be kids again. I'm just not very good at it!

That's still cool!! We dress up for everything! haha! I think that's why we even had a blast at MNSSHP :) We're even decorating the stroller :)

We have tickets to the P & PP on the 26th! Can't wait-only 8 more days! Hoping for no rain! :)
