Anyone own a Toyota Highlander?? Need help.

A couple of months ago I traded in my 2008 Highlander with 145K miles on it for a new 2012 Highlander. I LOVE my Highlander. I loved my previous one and the only things I ever took it to the mechanic for were oil changes and tires. Gas milegae was good too. I wasn't even planning on getting a new car but got one of those to good to be true offers from the dealership and wound up negoatiating my way into a really great deal :cool1:

I bought a highlander in March and it just turned 5000 miles. It's the V6 with 4wd - so it's the one with the worst gas mileage of all the models. I usually average between 20 & 20.5 per tankful. That is mixed highway and in town. Last week I filled up and then hit the highway to Tulsa about 45 miles away driving 75 mph and when I got there the display said the average was 25 something which I could not believe! I've been more than pleased with the gas mileage.

I see folks mentioning the MPG on the "display". Let it be known that these computations made by the computer is generally highly inaccurate. If you want a number to compare, you have to fill the tank and note the miles driven and how much you refill the tank next time. Much more accurate (even though the odometer is probably inaccurate as well, but not as much as the computer tracking fuel mileage.)

So now that you have had it for awhile how is the ride, is it still smooth, is there wind noise or is it still like an air tight ride.

Still pretty smooth ride. I have new tires and the ride is back to being much nicer. We are having an issue with a noise coming from the driver window that sounds like wind. We live a couple miles on a gravel road and they told me that gravel is getting stuck in some contraption. That is the only place we are having a noise. They did fix it, but I can hear it a little still. We've been very pleased.

Okay so after reading tons of reviews, driving all kinds of cars we settled on the Toyota venza, the soft ride, roomy interior and the gas mileage was key factors, also that we got a heck of a deal. Thanks for all the input. I knew this would be the place to ask. Thanks
