Since I totaled my car when DD & I hit a deer earlier this month, we are in the market for another vehicle. Went to the car dealer last night and test drove a Trailblazer. They have a really nice used 2002 model for a pretty good price. Anyone have one and any advice???

I love mine. We had a blazer before we ended up leasing the trailblazer. The ride is so much smoother. I don't know much about the longterm reliability though.

We bought the EXT (7 passenger) in May. I love it but it does take about $50 to fill up the gas tank. Other than that it is great.

My DH has one and I LOVE it. I'm constantly thinking up reasons why I have to use his car instead of the van when I'm going somewhere on the weekends.:p We just got ours in April, it's a 2004 model, but so far we've had no problems with it. We have the extended version with the 3rd row seat and the DVD system in it. Works great on that 5 hour drive to Grandma's house!!
The only thing that I don't like is that the back seat is not as wide as I thought it would be. We have 3 kids and there's no way we could fit 3 carseats across (the reason why we got the 3rd row seat). Even with 2 carseats there's really no room for an adult as well. But, I don't know if that's an issue for you or not.
I highly recommend them!

My best friend has one. She had some transmission problems when she first got it but since she had that fixed everything seems okay on it.

I had a 2002 Trail Blazer that I bought in June 2001. I LOVED it so much that I got a 2004 model in May 2004. We drove it to WDW in June and got decent gas mileage with it. It handles really smoothly and I seem to have had good luck with them, too. Have fun with your new Trail Blazer.:sunny:

I have a 2002 Trailblazer. The only negative is that it has a small gas tank--a little over 16 gallons--so I have to fill it up every 5 days or so since I drive 15 miles each way to work. My old van had a 20 gallon tank and even that would be better. Other than that, I love it. We got sideswiped by a semi in July--with 2 of my kids in the car--and everyone was fine. It's a really solid vehicle (after $5000 of repairs!).

Our neighbor has a 2002 with a lot of electrical problems. It's broke down (electrical) on the road several times and was towed from the bus stop just last week. He wants to get rid of it, while she wants to keep it.

We love ours, too. The only problem we have is that the dashboard now has some lights starting to burn out - gotta get those replaced soon. It's a 2003.

I have a 2002 and just love it!!! Handles great, not too bad on the gas mileage considering, and it looks pretty sharp!

(There's a small issue with a tail light not working properly on some of them, just make sure you get that taken care of!)

I have a 2003 and wish I would have waited for the 2004's so I could have gotten the moveable foot pedals (thanks to my height or lack thereof). I love it. Took me a bit to get use to it. The one thing I really miss (I had a Caravan before I got this) is the cargo/hauling space. There was much more room in my van (of course I could take the seats out too). But I wouldn't get rid of it.

I do have a larger gas tank. Mine will hold anywhere from 18-21 gallons (depending on where I'm at and how low I am on gas).

My daughter and I bought (together) a 2002 for her use, and we love it. It is not the extended version and is a good size for her - safe and plenty of headroom. The only drawback is the small gas tank. I drive a Silverado pickup, and if I didn't love it so much, I would buy a Trailblazer for myself. We bought it from a friend who owns Chevy and Ford dealerships, and he recommended the Trailblazer over the Explorer.

I love mine too. I got a 2004 (not the extended version) in July and just love driving it. I was a confirmed van momma and drove this Trailblazer and had to have it. My very favorite part is that when you hit the unlock button all the lights come on and stay on until you put the key in!

I have a 2004 GMC/Envoy XL which really is the same vehicle but not really? I like mine...not the fuel consumption though!I have had some elcetronic woes as well...

My friend has a 2004 Trailblazer though and does like it but it has had some probs. The rear hatch broke after a couple of months and they had door locking problems...the doors would stick and be unable to open.I think though other than these glitches it has been pretty good.

Good Luck...I think any car can have some teething pains but hopefully, yours will already be worked out!
