I currently use an entry level Canon a430. I really love it, but I'm ready to take the step to a better camera. This one has image stabilization, which is a big plus for me because I seem to take a lot of blurry photos.

I'm also the type to get frustrated with too many buttons, controls, etc.

Have any of you bought this camera yet? Or, if you have another Canon that you'd like to recommend, please do!!

I would like to know also. We are looking at purchasing our first digital camera, and we are looking at the following:

All Cannon:
a570 IS
A630
A710 IS

I have this camera and I have been mostly disappointed with it. It has a great array of features, the IS is great, and the focal length range is very good for a camera of this size. But I think image quality could be better and it is quite noisy. You can browse through photos by camera on pBase. Here is the link to browse for A710 photos. Here are my WDW photos taken with this camera. You'll notice most of them were taken in bright daylight so I could keep the ISO relatively low. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I picked up an A710 at the beginning of the year, and I have been satisfied with it. Sure, it's not a dSLR, but the 6x optical zoom is nice, the image stabilization helps a lot with getting shots in lower light situations, and its macro mode works great. I like the size, too - it is pocketable, yet has a reasonable grip. I always have the A710 with me when I am out and about and don't want to be carrying a larger camera. Photos from my most recent WDW trip taken with this camera are here. And A710 photos from my trip to Spain are here.

We actually went with the Canon A630. it had all the features of the A710, except for the image stablazaiton. The A630 is also a 8.0 megapixal camera, where the A710 was 7.

I also liked the flipout LCD screen. I was not sure I would like it, but now that I have used it, it comes in very handy.

I have the Canon A710 and am very happy with it. My only complaint is the slow flash recycle time, but I knew about that before I purchased so it's not a big deal.
