Hi all

Got a great AP rate at the CR for August in a wing room. My family and I really prefer the North Garden wing because its Non- Smoking and for its location.

I read somewhere that SOG is using the CR, primarily the North Wing and that I may not get my wish. Does anyone know if only SOG is in the North Wing? What if a SOG client wants a smoking room I assume they would have to be in South or Tower....

I did have CRO note my preferences and she didn't mention SOG at all so I am hopeful that I will get North. South wing would be ok but due to the sensitivity of my girls to smoking North is a better option for us.

Any Ideas - anyone stayed CR on a CRO ressie - anyone know if I could find out for sure?

TIA
TJ

Yes, I have read many people on this board say they were NOT SOG and got the north wing. BUT I too have asthma and have been in the south wing several times in a non-smoking room with no smoke or smoke residue etc..... to bother me. They have taken this into consideration and adjusted the south wing for everyone to live togther in harmony. :D (politically correct ;) ). I am not SOG but would have to believe that some people who staySOG would have to be smokers? and would prefer that room category? So I would think both wings are mixed for now? Anyone else from SOG might know for sure, please fill us in about the north wing.

I would base your wing desicion on location which would you prefer to be nearer: north : magic kingdom walk path, and food court OR south : pools. Either way I never really thought either wing was that far from the main building. But I really love the CR! Have a great trip. ;)

There are definitely smokers in the North Wing. We were there in April in the North Wing and our room smelled of smoke when we checked in. I could smell it every time we returned to the room.
I saw the lady in the room next to us out on her patio smoking several times during our stay.

Yes, I know that people do smoke in the north wing but all the rooms are designated non-smoking. People can, and do smoke on the patios in the north wing and I think this is allowed even in a non-smoking room. I would prefer they didn't but its not up to me!

I still prefer the North Wing for the non-smoking rooms, as my girls are so sensitive to smoking. Its nice to know there is hope that I can be located there!

Three hundred rooms in the North Wing are booked for SoG. The overflow is available to non- SoG. I think there are 40 to 60 rooms available. I believe SoG is a non smoking resort. People are allowed to smoke outside the rooms and on balconies, but should not smoke in the rooms. Hope this helps.

we were there in april. decided to extend vaca by a day from the HRH and check into CR and hit MK. checked in on a fri at 7:30 a.m and in less than 10 mins we were in our room in north wing

Thank you Suevee - that makes lots of sense to me now, that they would take the North Wing. I didn't know SOG was a non-smoking resort - how nice!

I think I will stick with my request to be in the North Wing with the knowlege that it isn't as much a possiblity now as in the past and hope for the best!! I have no problem with the south wing except for the smoking issue. Thanks for the information!
