My son got a jacket on Ebay on Dec 20th. I paid for the jacket with my credit card as it was going to be his Christmas present. He recieved an email from the seller saying he won the bid and she was going to ship the coat. Well, he never recieved the coat!! My CC has been charged now. I want to call CC company and dispute the charges but he wants me to wait and let Ebay handle it. He is afraid they won't let buy things on Ebay if I dispute the charges. He has emailed the seller 4 times with no reply. Ebay has sent her a message too with no reply. My question is this...how long do I wait for them to do something. I think this is crazy and I want to call the CC company and dispute it now!! Has this happened to anyone else? By the way, seller did have a good record...so are we stuck??? :confused3

I would call the credit card company before too much more time passes by.
I sent an ebayer a $67 money order for a Christmas item back in 2003. I bought from a seller with a good record too. He never sent the item but cashed the money order and I was out the money. The Post Office (where I bought the MO) sent a trace out for me to prove he cashed it, but I was still out the money and the item.
NO MORE EBAY FOR ME EVER AGAIN

Did you pay with a credit card via paypal? If so then follow their guidelines. If not then file a claim with your credit card provider. Your credit card company can't stop you from buying on ebay!

I am sorry that this happened to you. A friend of mine, "won her bid", for an expensive purse. She paid with her credit card. The purse never arrived. She only received a small fraction of the amount paid credited back to her credit card. The seller basically ignored them.

If you did pay it through paypal I think you only get a certain amount of time to complain 30 days I think it is.

here's a little trick I've used when not receiving ebay items, if the item was purchased from a seller in another state..I email them and inform them that since the transaction was across state lines it comes under interstate commerce laws, and therefore it is a federal crime, to take money and not send merchandise, it amazed me how quickly the seller replied to my email and told me that they thought they had mailed it, but upon looking again found it buried under other stuff...

I did not get a kids jeans outfit that i won on ebay a couple of yrs ago. It wasn't very much money but the outfit was so cute that i hated not getting it. After a few days it said the seller was no longer registered. :(

I've bought hundreds of items off eBay over the last 3 years, and only once did I not receive an item. I followed the paypal & ebay policies for reporting the bad seller and transaction, and in the end the seller offered to send me a different item instead of the one I'd ordered. I declined, but did request a refund of my payment from her. Since I'd paid with paypal, she transfered the funds back into my paypal account.

It did take a lot of work and was a headache to deal with, and if I'd paid less for the item I probably would have let it go. I suppose just ignoring it would have only encouraged this bad seller, however, so I'm glad I did take action.

Bummer that the jacket didn't come - but I agree that you won't be prevented from buying on eBay again just because you stopped payment on a bad transaction.
