If your near fort bragg early Tuesday morning and you see the big birds fly overhead, would you take a minute to say a prayer and well wishes for godspeed home? My hubby is finally on his way over "there" after being gone all summer with all the predeployment stuff they leave early early Tuesday am. He called to say goodbye and that I won't hear from him for awhile. I am so sad, I don't know why this is upsetting me so, after all he hasn't been home since the end of May....guess it's because he's no longer here in the states and safe, now he's off to the unknown. Our life is not our own anymore, no planning vacations we don't know for sure when he'll be home, no one to bounce ideas off of, no one to go see that new movie coming out. ...just so depressed tonight I hope the morning brings a brighter day and we can just get through the next 365 odd days.
Criss.....hurry home.....be safe......kick some bad guy bootie!!!!!!!
Have I told all my diser friends about the sendoff that the guys got from New York a few weeks ago??

Tell him to stay safe and to say "Hi" and "Thanks" to all the guys over there for us.

Keep us updated about him....and you and your children. It is so hard to imagine being home and them overseas. You have my blessings and thanks too.

Hugs to you! Please keep involved with your base support system. I know when My dh is off TDY etc. I can count on my buds on base for support. They know what you are going thru. Hang in there!!! Hugs again!

Maybe he will see my DH. I felt better once he got there for some reason. He has called and e-mailed everyday so far. Has sent digitals too. The pictures I have are incredible. Helps that he has an office though. The contact helps SO much.
He says the food is actually delicious, and he has his own room, bed and A/C at this point. Much better than during Desert Storm. I am focusing on his R&R about halfway through the 12 months. 12 months is TOO overwhelming to think about.
I hope he can contact you quicker than he says. There can be lots of delays actually getting to theatre. Took my DH about 6 days, but he was not with a unit. Lots of air delays! Hang in there and start fixing him a box of "things". Did he take a CD player? I burned some CD's for DH, got some sections of our local sports paper in there too. If he is near a PX at any point they will have lots they can buy, but some things from home are nice.:D And some camps are remote.
Do you know where he will be? PM me if you want, I may know something about the location. DH is reservist, so there is no "base support" here, but I have found others in my shoes.
And lastly, do NOT watch the news! They focus on the negative.

{{{HUGS}}} Sending your husband off on deployment is SOOOO hard. I am sorry your husband is headed for lands unknown, but I do realize as I have every time I send my DH off that it is a part of what they do. Prayers for your DH's safety and for you as you deal with this current separation.
