Anyone manage to replicate the pillows and mattress toppers?

My husband and I are very much missing the amazing plushness of the mattress and pillows from the Wonder. A few of my regular aches, pains, and pinches disappeared for the week. I actually checked out the pillows to see if there was a brand tag, but no luck. Now at home, I’m back to sleepless nights. Wondering if anyone has accomplished buying pillows and/or a mattress topper that are pretty close to what Disney uses, and if you wouldn’t mind sharing the specifics. Tia!

Bumping this up - I am in the market for a new mattress. I often say I sleep the best on a DCL bed, so thought I would ask around and see if anyone has a mattress they suggest that is similar to one on the cruise ships!?

I am a back sleeper but otherwise, I have no idea if I like firm or soft or something else all together. So what would you call the mattresses DCL uses? That could help me try some out in a store.

Thanks!

I checked the mattress on the Fantasy yesterday and it had the name Tencel all over the pillow top. Couldn’t tell if it was the name of the mattress or some kind of cover. Comfy, though!

I took a photo. Mattress was all gray. The mattress business is a bit suspect (according to 60 Minutes years ago) with different companies putting different material as covers to the same basic mattress from a 3rd party. But here is what was on mine. And it was definitely a pillow top (couldn’t be turned over). I couldn’t find a tag.

Tencel appears to be a fabric that was used to cover the mattress. Doesn't seem to be a brand, but Biscayne Bedding - who is SUPPOSED to be the ones who make the DCL mattresses does have a mattress with Tencel in the title. The Nassau PT. But it has been discontinued. The mattress on the Fantasy was not very heavy (the cabin steward has to fit a flat sheet on the mattress so they have to lift it) and it was maybe 10 - 12 inches thick. AND it was soft. It was not by any means a 'firm' mattress. I didn't like the pillows. They were lumpy. Glad I bought my own travel pillow.

On this page it no longer lists Disney as a client:

Thank you for your help!! I think I prefer a soft mattress over firm, but I do feel scared because I don't want to sink into it and feel like I am smothering! I have had that happen with foam mattress toppers before.

I know . . . i bought a great mattress (from a discounter) and after a year it got lumpy? Somehow the filling started to ball up? There are some great articles online about how to buy a mattress. And I guess $1000 is about the going rate for a decent one? I need a new one too, but it was the mattress or the cruise! And maybe a firm mattress with a replaceable pillow top topper would work? I DID sleep very well on the ship . . .

We were just on the Fantasy sailing 11-26-22.
The mattress are different from what I remember from our last cruise on the fantasy back in December 2019. They seam to be much softer.

We purchased a mattress late last year that are used in Disney World. We are DVC members and have always been happy with the mattress they use. We had to call the mattress company direct and order it from them. They had to make it and it took several weeks to have delivered. So far we are very happy with it. It remind me more of the mattress on the Fantasy years ago. My wife just told me that they may have discontinued the mattress we bought last year.
I am the kind of person who need to spend a little time on a mattress to make sure it is right for me.

I was on that ship mid-July 2022... and I've got a photo of the tag! It's Biscayne Bedding International LLC "Cayman Pillow Top" They don't have it on their website anymore, but email them at info@biscaynebedding.com to see what the replacement is. Good luck!

I can’t find the post any more but I remember reading that someone bought the biscayne mattress that was supposedly the same as the cruise one but it was much worse quality—they found out that the hotel grade ones are not sold to the general public and the retail ones are not made as well. Unfortunately I don’t think the mattress can be bought retail.

I just heard back from Biscayne and they said “Diamond Euro Top” is the retail replacement

Now I have to find that post!
Thanks for the heads up!
