We're thinking of getting an ADR here- maybe for our first night- to give our girls (5 and 2) a chance to meet Mickey and friends. I thought they might like the novelty of a revolving restaurant. I also was considering a Chef Mickey breakfast, but if we do the Garden Grill, I might try for 1900 Park Fare for breakfast instead. I'm not expecting gourmet, but is the food yummy enough for us to try it out?

We have eaten there several times. Both of my boys always ask to eat there. They like that the restaurant rotates, and the characters that are present. I personally like the food there. It has been good every time we have eaten there.

We think the food is good...not fancy, that is for sure...but the fish and veggies are very fresh...the character interaction is excellent...place is calm for a character meal.

We thought it was excellent, and especially if you have kids with you, you'll have enough options between the kids meal choices and the adult ones. I'm concerned going this time with just DS16 because I know last time he ate a lot of the Mac & Cheese, so I'm going to ask for that at least. And I want one of the cool cupcakes for dessert! ;)

We were not impressed with the Garden Grill when we ate there a year or so ago. The place seemed very outdated and the food was just ok. The character interaction was pretty decent, but not great enough to make us want to go back.

I love the Garden Grill. We eat there every trip to WDW. The food is great - best cornbread I've ever had. We get great character interaction there - I think the circular layout of the room really helps (plus there's a good charcter:guest ration), and I love how the atmosphere changes. We usually get 1.5 rotations in a meal. I highly recommend it.

The character interaction was good but we couldn't stand the food. It was so boring and dumbed down imo. I just don't think it is the kind of place our family likes but don't let that stop you. I also don't think it is rotating any longer so you might want to check that out.

We do too! The character interaction is super! The food is good...not great but good.

We didn't care much for Garden Grill. The food was rather bland and average at best. The character interaction was pretty good, but as a pp stated - it's not enough to make us consider a return visit.

I'm sad to say I'm in the "no" camp and we are NOT "fancy food" eaters and it doesn't take much to please us :sad2: We actually ran into friends of ours leaving GG as we were checking in and she rushed over and said "You aren't eating here are you??" and said they had just finished and it was awful. We went ahead with it anyway as it was our last night and the girls wanted to see more characters and I wish we hadn't. I really didn't eat anything, I agree with the post above that it seems very outdated and the food was tasteless and cold. I am sure they could have been having an off night, as it was recommended to us by several people but I wouldn't go back. I would say it was the worst meal of our trip followed by WCC - all our others were fantastic.

Character interaction WAS very good though!

"Love" is too strong of a word to describe how we feel about the Garden Grill, but we did like it. The food and service was okay, the characters were great, and we loved the rotating restaurant. It was a relaxing meal.
Go and enjoy it.

We loved the Garden Grill. The food was good, not fancy, but tastey. We also liked Chef Mickey's. Character interaction at both is VERY good!!

Agree. We are not big fans of the "family style - one plate" meals.

We ate at the Garden Grill for the first time in September and we enjoyed it. The character interaction was great, the food was yummy (especially the cheesy potatoes and the dessert), and the atmosphere was fairly quiet for a character meal. I would recommend it.

We've enjoyed the Garden Grill on several occasions and would recommend. Food and service are good, atmosphere is kid friendly and interesting (but not too noisy), and visits by Mickey and Pluto were a plus.

Garden Grill used to be our favorite and we ate there every trip. After our trip in 2007, we decided to give this restaurant a "rest". The food has really went downhill which is so disappointing. We also are not picky eaters but some of the food was inedible. I would skip this restaurant as there are much better ones elsewhere. Hopefully, GG will improve. :confused3

We loved it!:lovestruc The character interaction was great, the food was tasty with different selections, and the atmosphere was more calm than your typical character meal(no parades, no traveling to the buffett). The kids really loved the make your own dessert/cupcake.:woohoo: This is a great option to see the big cheese, and you could see Illuminations after dinner.:thumbsup2

This was one of my kids' favorite places last trip. They especially like the make your own cupcakes:goodvibes I like that it is all you can eat, but not a buffet. We just have to relax and our server brings the food to us. Much easier than lugging the kids up to the buffet while worrying about missing the characters!

We were also so disappointed that Victor no longer worked there. He was a terrific waiter and wish we knew if he was still working at WDW. No one seemed to know at GG or did not want to say. The waiters were still good but we sure missed Victor!!!

Slightly off-topic question...I thought I had read that the menu is seasonal. Is this true? We are planning to eat here in September, and I was wondering what the menu will be. Especially the dessert, since I read it was berry puff pasty, which does not sound too appealing. Anyone know?
