Lots of families work for Alcoa. Alcoa is in Bettendorf. Where they buy their house will depend on what school district in Bettendorf the kids will go to. They could go to Pleasant Valley or Bettendorf. Those two districts also have open enrollment. So if they were in Bettendorf District they could go to PV if they liked that school better. Bettendorf HS does have block scheduling.
Bettendorf is a great community. The town itself is small and is mostly residential. They do have a great library that was remodeled a few years ago. They also have a Children's Museum which is right by the Library.
Middle Park has a nice outdoor swimming pool that is open in the summer. They also have a 4th of July celebration with Fireworks and craft booths. There is also a VERY nice bike path that runs from one end of Bettendorf all the way into Davenport. We used to walk with DD there all the time.
Right across the street from the park is the Bettendorf Fitness center.
We always shopped at Hy-Vee grocery Store which is centrally located.
The Iowa side of the QCA is really growing! And most of it is moving towards Bettendorf. There is a major road called 53rd street. There is pretty much everything except for the Mall on this road.
